Kitty Hawk 1/35 MH-60S Knighthawk review

If I purchase a 1/35 scale Kidult in Night Hawk from this Kitty Hawk company and assemble and paint it, I will install two fuel tanks on the left and right outside the fuselage! The interior instrument panel will be printed with decal paper and attached to the digital LED instrument panel, and the exterior color will be painted in Korean "119 Helicopter" with red and yellow stripes "[lace expression]" on a white background, and we plan to completely remodel it! 9:22

Nigel. I always enjoy your straightforward, it is what is, don't pull punches reviews - I have had so many hits and misses with Kitty Hawk. One kit be a pleasure and the next an alligator roping contest - I do want a few of the copters though for my stash, keep the videos coming, i never miss one

Watch out for a part of the rotor head that is moulded the wrong way round. Sorry if you mention it but I haven't got time to watch it at the moment. Phil Flory found the issue in his build. I have the kit in my stash too. Cheers, Mark

@@NigelsModellingBench Hi again, I have watched you video now. Hopefully Kittyhawk have corrected it. I have the version Phil built. Some more stunning schemes in your version. I must resist buying another kit. Shame about the loss of Kittyhawk. I have the Sh-60, AH1-Z Viper and one of their F101 Voodoo's in the stash to keep me going. Would of liked the single engine Huey but can't find one.

Hello Nigel, I grabbed the same kit, but mine did have the resin gun in a neat little plastic snap case. Perhaps it was one of those ‘Easter egg’ type deals - I seem to remember that some of the ‘Little Bird’ kits had a couple of resin crew members and some didn’t. I guess it’s just luck of the draw perhaps. I’m sad to see them go too - as you say, these kits might not suit everybody, but the more manufacturers there are, the more choices there are for the modeller.

Could have been worse disappointments than the gun resin part. Wonder if they are around anywhere now, lol. Looks like an interesting build when the time is right. Thanks for the review and the Flory reference. Nicely done as usual.

Apparently resin gun was only included on first few kits sold? I'm sure there's an AM solution out there?

@@NigelsModellingBench that would be my guess, along with K.H. probably didn't make both the resin and the brass sleeve in house. Sooo maybe a third party similar to Eduard? (Choppers and tanks aren't in my lane normally so guestimating here). Wonder if any of the initial release videos happened to mention who made those particularly. Also possible to find the files online somewhere and get them made? At least you have time on a rainy day/waiting for paint to dry to eventually research it. Or some helpful comment 😜

I thought that retro SeaSprite livery was made up, googled it and it actually existed. Never ever seen that before anywhere.

I was originally interested in these Kitty Hawk Chopper Kits. But I think I will give it a miss now. Thanks for the review. Pretty bad instructions and missing parts to depict the one on the box. E models no longer have this one in stock. But do have 2 other kits in stock, Ocean Hawk & Sea Hawk. But at £98.99, they are far too expensive for me.

It doesn't have missing parts actually.. I didn't realise at the time of filming it was only the initial release that had the gun.. so, as you say, one can't build the box art, but there will be something available AM.

Tad late yet hopefully helpful find in a forum post for the big machine gun that wasn't always included in the kit... You need to be aware, this kit will suck the life out of you...I have been bogged down on my blackhawk for a year now. I'm not usually one to hate on a kit for being detailed, one of my favorite kits are the rfm M-ATV... but this kit killed my MOJO. I have 4 variants too...
