Oh, how I wish these Kitty Hollywood Reviews were still being made!!! Perfection!! And the hugely likable Kitty is often hilarious. Utterly unique.

Kiity all your background information make these movies more fun. I love the old movies and seeing the relationships to other old movies make them far more interesting and make us look closer. I'm in Australia and when I was a teenager we had a film critic that would present the Saturday night movies and before the start and even after he would speak about the movie, much like your doing. I miss him so much. Thanks

Released 2 years after my birth! So selective of the morals of the age - my mom & dad would have understood every nuance of the fabric of those times. Thank you for your review!! Al

DEar Kitty, This was an outstanding review of one of my favorite films. I've read a lot of sources on "It Happened One Night" and your research is picture-perfect. Your observations about the rise of Columbia Pictures shows your researching ability. As you mentioned, it was considered a minor studio in 1934 and with the success of this film, people at the majors took Harry Cohn's studio more seriously. The irony of Mayer sending Gable to Columbia for "punishment" is that not only does Columbia now own more Best Picture Oscars than the near-defunct MGM, but now Cohn's old studio is located in what used to be MGM. Kudos on the Bugs Bunny reference.

+Beth Taylor You're welcome! I also discovered that Pepe le Pew was also inspired by a character in this film (King Westley) so it's a whole rich vein of cartoon inspiration...

Dear Kitty Hollywood, I just love your channel so much. Please, please keep going and don't be discouraged by low number of viewers. People just don't know what they need to see nowadays... Thank you for your great work. It must be very difficult to creat vidios of such high quality. Every vidio is well-scripted,well-edited and your film choice is always interesting. I like how you bring some inside stories. Like that one with Claudett Colbert not liking to star in this wonderful movie. Who would have thought? You know, this Old Hollywood Golden era topic is very close to my heart. Well, and I'm sorry for grammar. English is my third language.

+JuliaAustralian Thank you so much for your comment - I do very much appreciate your kind words. I love doing these reviews, and honestly, as long as we still have the time to put them together I am going to do them. I love these movies so much that any opportunity to talk about them is a good one. Thank you so much for watching them - and as someone with only one language behind them, I am truly impressed by anyone able to speak three!
