Kiveton Re-Visited

A short video written by Nev ibberson about returning to a village after 70 years. Produced by myself while working for Rotherham Youth Service, with funding from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.

Wow, Myself And Mum And Family Live In Scotland Now, We Are All Scottish But, My Mum Lived In Kiveton From Since She Was 5 Years Old In 1968 Until She Was 10 In 1973, And Remembers Alot Of Streets And Pictures Especially Going To Sunday School At The Chapel At 5:36 ,And Going To School, Seeing Houses And Streets From And Younger Age Brought Memories Back For My Mum. Well that was a really good watch. My grandparents house a Number 1 Dawson Terrace, Railway Terrace, our first house until I was 5 when we moved to the White City. Happy times, but not sure that Kiveton is still a good place, all takeaways and nothing much alas! Sad really and its twice the size in was when the pit was open.

Thanks for your comment, I'm glad you liked it, Nev's character really shines through. As for the lack of shops, I think amazon has had something to do with that. The pit site is really starting to come on now, its a shame more don't use it. 👍
