That time I was a bird that flew off a cliff in hunger and the wind took me on a journey, the times I was shown my own grave sites. The spirit will be open to anyone who becomes open to spirit. First we must be open to ourselves and face the lower aspects, so that we may ascend without fear and have faith. If you leave your body remember what is there and why you seen what you seen, it will all make sense in time.

It is stated in Ngati Kahungunu history, that all of the men who came to Aotearoa on board te Takitimu waka were either tohunga or Rangatira under the leadership of Tamatea Arikinui, cheif preist of the Takitimu from its departure to Aotearoa from Raiatea. On making its first land fall in the Taitokerau, some members of the Takitimu had debussed there and remained. The history of te ao maori was passed down from Tupai of the Takitimu waka and shared to other iwi tohunga whom were invited to sit in on a lengthy wananga in the Te Wairarapa. Tupai Whakarongo Wananga was the younger brother of Ruawharo, Cheif gaurdian of the ancient Ture, Whakapapa and deity of te tangata maori. Te Matorohanga is a descendant of Tupai and therefore had the acquired the story of what is been narrated here. Nga Puhi and Ngati Kahungunu share similarities in history, even with Te Ao maori.
