@@JennaP363 He honestly is. I like me some George Strait just as much as anyone else, but without an entire staff of writers, where would have his career went? The greats in my mind ALL wrote their own songs, played the guitar, and sang. Hank Jr has more than carved out his own legacy, he refused to stay in his daddy's shadow, and embraced Sr's legacy with love and respect all at the same time. He's not putting out the hits like he did 30 years ago, but to think he's been doing this for over 60 years now is astonishing.
@JennaP3636 жыл бұрын
@@charlesdjones1 Have known Jr. since the mid 70's. He has remained true to himself. Not one to put on pretenses what you see is what you get. He especially proved that when he wrote and recorded " Keep The Change". How cool was that? If you know Jr. like I have you have got to appreciate that. He is and always will be an icon.
@charlesdjones16 жыл бұрын
@@JennaP363 that's cool that you know Jr as a personal friend. I lived in Clarksville for about 7 years while stationed at Campbell, and when we weren't over there I had my tail up at LBL, camping and fishing. I was told by some campers that Hank spent a considerable amount of time at Land Between the Lakes and at one time owned a lake house there, idk. Either way, I admire his extensive collection of Civil War memorabilia and knowledge.

All depends on the day with Hank. He was just always full of himself and was a jerk. He even mentioned the local paint store in his song I’ve got rights. Hank used to be drunk and high a lot, and when he was look out. When he’s sober he’s a cool dude but still has an ego.
@greenwil5 жыл бұрын
It would be awfully tough not to be, if you were in his position. I mean really think about it. I know that in some spiritual sense, we are in some way, pretty much all equal. That said, let's be honest, he has lived the kind of life that most men can only dream of living. Hell, it could almost be contrived as putting on a bit, if Hank didn't act the way that he does. At the very least, he keeps it real. I ain't trying to justify if, just offering, what is likely, his point of view with it all. You can't truly judge it, unless you've actually lived it and there is not really all too many, who actually has.

And landed on his FACE. He has worn a beard ever since because the reconstruction, as good as it was, still left him looking like a horror. The fall literally split his face and part of his skull in TWO. His brain was part way out of his head, which was why his friend with him tied his shirt around his head and face--to keep his brain from coming further out of his head. How he ever lived is a miracle. Even his surgeons and doctors said that in a news conference on TV. You'd be slurring, too.

He looks like he got off a jungle safari train. Lost respect for him when he sued his own half sister Jet, to keep her from her rightful share of Father's estate. He was four years old when his Dad died, and never really knew him. Hank Sr. signed papers before Jett was born that he wanted custody of her, and then she was sold out by the people who were supposed to look out for her after he died. Hank Jr. like Willie, realized that the outlaw train was the money making train and he got on it at the right time. Had a few good songs, but thats the extent of it. The third generation, maybe time for regular careers?
