I often watched Jibran in my spare time, and I admire his depth of understanding. His insightful explanations are exactly what we, as Pakistanis, need. I'm always drawn to articulate individuals, and Jibran is always at the top of that list for me. I'd love for him to share some book recommendations that he believes Pakistanis should read.

This is such a tangible conversation, such prevalent topics are discussed. I watched a few podcasts with 20 yr old guests and truly I didn't relate to even a single one because the conversation was unnecessarily philosophical about intangible topics. But this one is a awesome.

Agree on some things but disagree on the Urdu medium curriculum part. Demonizing English more than it already is would make it the same as Sindhi, Balochi, Punjabi etc. It would colonize the language even further rather than countering/fighting colonization.

A classic example of distortion of facts and history by Mohammad Jibran Nasir Jibran here cleverly trying to twist the facts by making this narrative that Qouta system was introduced to facilitate Sindhi population living in interior Sindh. Whereas, Qouta system existed even before the partition. AIML & Jinnah demanded Qouta system and had reserved seats and separate electorals for Muslims nd Hindus. After the creation of Pakistan Jinnah abolished it. Afterwards, Qouta system was again introduced by Non-Sindhi PM Liauqat Ali Khan in 1951 only to facilitate people migrating from India to Pakistan. 17% Qouta was reserved for 2% population which migrated to Pakistan while 3% qouta was given to while Sindh and 8% qouta was reserved for Bengal now Bangladesh one of the largest province of India. Liauqat Ali Khan introduced this and other systems only to favour immigrants so that he could generate his ethnocentric vote bank in Karachi. After his murder things went out of control in Pakistan and ultimately #Ayub Khan took over the country. He kept this law unchanged till 1967 when bengalis revolted. After Ayub's resignation, during era of Dictator Yahya #ethnic conflict erupted in Sindh this conflict was trilateral Sindhi-Pashtun-Urdu speaking. Ayub invited Pashtun settlers from all over Pakistan, this also had impacted on Sindh's demographics. This conflict became violent and soon turned into a bloody one. Moreover, the then Governor/Marshall law administrator #GeneralRukhman Gul (who himself was a pashtun) advised Gen. Yahya to impose curfew in urban areas of Sindh and later came in with solution to divide Sindh in urban & rural categories to ensure some suitable division of resources. In 1973 after debacle of #Dhakka, Bhutto never wanted to involve himself in further controversies of ethnism he carried on with same law with formula of distribution on proportion of population. Initially this system was applied to only 100 seats. Till here, it is evident that Bhutto did not introduce this system neither he enforced it rather he wished to continued it because it's abrogation might have triggered new conflict in Sindh that being Sindhi PM he is favouring his ethnic group. This system was meant to remain enforced for 10 years only. After toppling of Bhutto and his Judicial murder GenZiaulHaq made many amendments in the law. He extended this system to all federal & provincial jobs appointment, he reserved 2% seats for army in civil bureaucracy. He extended this system to educational institutes as well. In 1998 there was Nawaz govt in power supposedly very close to MQM with 2/3 majority and 25 years has been passed yet Mian Nawaz Sharif extended this system for further 15 years and after 15 years in 2014 it was happened to be Nawaz regime yet he further extended it. More than that, recently Imran khan PTIGovernment who happens to be ally of MQM has further extended this system for the unkown period. Did Jibran mention any of this?
