There has not been a single anime, TV show, movie, or book that made me feel the same way as seeing Naomi walk away to the gallows. That shit for some reason really hit. That was the moment where Light became truly unforgivable. It was never about saving the world. It was only ever because he thought it was fun. I don't know why it hit so hard for me, but I have not consumed a single piece of fiction before or after watching Death Note that made me feel the same way. Fucking masterpiece man. I'm one of those people who doesn't throw that word around a whole lot unless I really mean it. The only things I would call a masterpiece are Death Note, Breaking Bad, Berserk, and maybe, MAYBE Code Geass. Nothing else I have ever seen/read deserves that title in my opinion.
