Hi Francis, thanks for reviewing the prototype of Bushmate! You are right - we are still working on it and going to change the handle a bit and change the sheath quite a lot. So any feedback at this stage is very-very welcome!

Hi there, good to hear! Thanks for watching!

great looking blade, cleared that area well and fast!
@BushCampingTools8 жыл бұрын
You bet it did and those kinds of grasses can quickly blunt a crappy blade. I managed to cut myself on the edge of the leaves as they have very sharp silicon edged cells LOL!

The machete is in production now, in two versions, one with convex grind and the other with scandi grind - have you got a chance to check them out?
@BushCampingTools6 жыл бұрын
Hi Sergey, no not yet but i do use the prototype model they sent me quite a bit for clearing the bush and scrub. I've also used it as a kind of "survival tool" if you like too and it really holds an edge even against horizontal edge dragging against dead giant bamboo! If the new models are even half as good then they will be rocking for sure.

Say Heah Mr, I just pulled the trigger on the Battle Horse Mad Hatter Machete, I wanted something that's very lite for the summer brambles in my State, It's a 3/32" thick 12 3/4" butting blade. I'm also machine the handle with the same white G-10 handle for a nice matching set, I think this will be my Summer Long Knife. Oh, It's made in the L6 Steel.

it's not a machete is a Big knife. amazing knife!!!!
@normanscout11488 жыл бұрын
now that looks a lot better than the other kyzlar knife you reviewed, its nice to see the Australian shape being used again nice straight edge with a bit of weight to it that's how a machete should be instead of some of these other types with serrated edges (rubbish)in my opinion
@BushCampingTools8 жыл бұрын
Well yeah, I'm not sure about putting serrations on a machete style blade. I think for me, any machete, parang ( I mean a proper one not some flunky designed one) etc etc, must have a good weight distribution, otherwise the moment you go to swing it, u are going to loose it or it simply doesn't function like a blade of that type should. As always, thanks for watching and commenting!

Yes I can see how this company attracted your eye and no doubt your wallet LOL. They seem to make some damn good looking Bowie style knives.

Say Heah M8, Cheers, watching this video again, it's so hard for me to buy products like that because after I almost got scammed by E-Bay and PayPal, I like to pay by check. So the closest thing to that Machete is my Ka-Bar Johnson Adventure Parangatang. But, honestly no regrets, it's made out of the 1095 CroVan, a pretty good carbon. When we hunted duck, I have one stainless Machete that cleared the Cottontails, I used my Condor Jungle Saber Machete. In 420HC, not bad, but what you have there I wouldn't mind having, Thanx You for sharing a lovely piece of kit.,,.p

Hi mate, unfortunately, it's not as yet for sale as this was a prototype and I think they never went into production with it as the scabbard needs some attention but maybe it is for sale in Russia?

hello other now LOL, this machete looks beautiful. is good chooper?
@BushCampingTools7 жыл бұрын
Yes it is but I'm not sure they put it into production yet. This was just a preview of it, a kind of beta model but it is a proper machete and swings quite well. I believe they were going to tweak the design slightly for some minor improvements but in the field it worked fine for me doing what a machete should do.
@BonEchoGearReviews7 жыл бұрын
looks quite similar to the martindale.
@BushCampingTools7 жыл бұрын
With a company history of about 125 years (Martindale), I'm sure that's how we have loads of machetes floating around the cane fields and (ever dwindling) banana plantations here LOL. Although a side profile is similar to one model, the cross section, steel/wood and construction isn't like what Martindale do with their rolled design. But yes good observation. The thing is, when it comes to: machetes, Goloks, Parangs, Kukris, and almost all other "big knives" used in Southeast Asia, Africa,and South American countries and Australia; most designs have been: used/utilized/copied/improved upon (not much to improve upon in most cases) from manufacturers from outside of these areas, although I have had some made for me from a few traditional blacksmiths in Indonesia and am yet to see these in mass production (Yet). I'll be previewing some of these soon as a "blast from the past" from the vaults of BCT LOL! Thanks for watching!

How thick is the spine?
@BushCampingTools8 жыл бұрын
It's 5mm thick or 0.2 inches
@thedarknessjosh8 жыл бұрын
I thought it looked thick, thank you.
@BushCampingTools8 жыл бұрын
Yes it's not your "normal" thick, as in thin machete style blade. Although it is more like the thickness of a traditional Indonesian parang, at least like the parang I had made for me in Indonesia.
