You're excellent and you look amazing. As a male lead, I always feel that a lot of lessons are geared at getting the lead comfortable with leading moves but not enough focus is invested in the follows. I love that teachers like you exist. Kizomba youtube vortex brought me here. If you can get a student moving like you then WOW..

I stubbled into your basic classes 1-2-3 when browsing around for virtual Zumba and Latin lessons. I was fascinated by this style of dance and your expertise as an instructor. Before I actually found your classes I had been watching some couples competition for this style of dance. As much as I loved what you demonstrated, I am left wondering what do the men have to know in order to lead their partners. I am just and observer at this time but I like the slow smooth motions of the dancers. I am 72 years old now and my dancing days are limited. But, I believe that its never too late to learn and try new things. Thanks for the inspiration.

It’s definitely never too later to learn! Most of my students are in their 60’s and 70’s. Check out my teachers KZbin channel as he has a few lessons for leaders that may help you understand better:kzbin.info/door/S3PzuCcjInWc4AJki1t-4g My channel is geared mostly toward followers 😊 thanks for your comment!

OMG thank you so much for the timestamps! As a dancer myself, I like to see how it's done with the music as it's easier for me to learn that way and then go back to the instructions if I don't get it.

Thank you Tara for basic 3 kizomba - great stuff - you explain yourself step by step really well Hun which makes it easy to follow - quite a daunting dance when you watch someone in full flow on the dance floor - but definitely picking it up fast 🤩

It would be cool if you'd revisit this and add "Saida" which is integral for partner dancing. Taking a class now and didn't see that portion in your instruction across the 3 videos. Great tutorial for follows/ladies. I'd love to see you go into leading details too.

Hi Tara, you are truly a great dance doctor! I am surprised to see your subscription is not a million especially during this covid period. May you allow me to make small suggestions: Since you have a wonderful studio, if the video has good angles and utilize the mirror to see your back side will be a good idea. Also if you may consider to upgrade your video and audio tools, your return from more subscriptions will definitely pay it off quickly. Best luck!

When you lift, put the heel down, and then press, (5:15, for example), do you press with the whole foot or do you mainly press with the ball of the foot? Thank you

Whole foot 🤗

@@DanceDoctor And when you are dancing kizomba in general, is your weight on the balls of the feet, like in salsa, or not as much?

I'm just looking ahead but I would like to know if we use Cuban motion for kizomba
@DanceDoctor3 жыл бұрын
I use cuban motion technique to teach weight changes in the beginning, but as you get more comfortable the hip movements are a little softer and more generated from the core and less from the knees.

@RR-js1el Жыл бұрын
Not sure what are you explaining, but that what you are showing is NOT KIZOMBA. You are showing elements of Tarraxinha dance in basic steps of Kizomba. So at the end you don't have neither Kizomba nor Tarraxinha. You have some unnatural fusion of something. So if people would learn your version, they will need months with correct teacher to do it right.

Thanks for your feedback!
@essjay3051 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe this is true. I started learning "Kizomba" several years ago and only now I realize that it wasn't Kizomba at all but rather urban or fusion or whatever you want to call it. I do like Urban kiz and fusion styles, but I also like actual Kizomba which is a lot different than what is usually promoted online.
