I'd love to hear these drumloops along with some well-produced basslines and synths. The thing is, for some reason they sound a tad thin to me for actual electronic music, but maybe that's just eq'ing them right.

Sorry mate but you are wrong. Jungle is a variation of Ragga Jungle. And Drum & Bass is a variation of the Jungle. Ragga Jungle came first but he was not the Ragga Jungle that everyone thinks it was. It was a mixture of Dance Hall + Reggae + Hip Hop. The Jungle was born there.
@soulrunna11 жыл бұрын
Jungle is more syncopated than D&B and has more elements of Reggae, Ragga, Dub songs. The beats are more "broken". Drum & Bass is more "light". The beats are more "straight", brings together elements from other styles like Techno, Hip Hop, Jazz, Soul, etc.

i'm going to be honest with you, i smell shite. I always thought that when jungle/d'b raised its head in the early to mid nineties it was called jungle and then by about 94/95 it was called drum and bass. the explanation i'd always heard was that as jungle had its roots coming from ragga, dancehall and reggae all be it with a techno twist , jungle was thought to be a bit, um...non pc/verging on racism. you got any workings or equations to back that up?
