@lonestarabd Pretty much if it's a drum sound, he's making it manually with the exception of a few hi-hat notes here and there. The majority of the lesser sounds you hear are done via ghost notes (really quiet notes) which he does as 16th note accents on the snare. The only sound which he's not making is the bass riff. A lot of the drum sounds are syncopated, which he wouldn't be able to pull off without manipulating the tracks himself, which he can't because he's still drumming.

I have the full length high quality video of this. If you want to send me a message, it's possible we can maybe work something out, I can talk to Sawka and see what he says
@michaltokarski95262 жыл бұрын
hey Brian can you share it somehow ? Those live performances are incredible
@vcpublications2 жыл бұрын
@@michaltokarski9526 I totally can. I just need to find the files in my storage because it was so long ago.. the data files are on DVDs. Lol. But I can get them easily out of my storage soon then load it up and either do a Dropbox or we can figure something out. If I load it to KZbin I think some of the songs get flagged but I could try to upload the full length and see what happens. Don't hesitate to reach out and remind me if I don't get to it right away. Also if you want to email me that would help me remember :-p blackie012@gmail.com or text me 425-780-0842 Hope all is good!
@michaltokarski95262 жыл бұрын
@@vcpublications thanks for reply 👍and yeah, great idea with Dropbox or any other file hosting service. I agree that YT can flag it as soon as you upload it, also not sure about video quality… I have a Google Drive with unlimited storage and a few VPS servers with no transfer limit, so I can also configure some share (if needed) for everyone who is interested in this brilliant stuff 😉 I also have a lot of stuff on DVD and totally understand you… very rarely use it on daily basis. I’ll drop you an email in some time so you don’t forget 😉 Thanks again..

Dude, I like your praising of Sawka, don't say what you're saying of 'other people'. I think every kind of music is awesome. People just should do what they want to do, not what they 'think is awesome' or 'what they think is hard'. Sawka here is having fun, doing what he loves, whether people like it or not. The electronic 'computer' guys are having fun too too, (albeit many of them are hype driven, but not all). Check out Photek etc. They don't deserve the 'backleaning sofa' comment. :-(

@sharless1 Well said, Pendulum aren't even really Drum and Bass artists anymore. Rob Swire alienated lots of his loyal followers by trying to distance himself from drum and bass as a genre, hence the sh!t they are releasing on warner music....two words "SOLD OUT" google "rob swire" and "alienates fans" and you'll see what i'm talking about but regarding THIS vid...KJ Sawka is a damned legend on the skins. and an awesome producer too!

a tambourine does not create a melody in any way whatsoever. unless you had like 5 differently pitched tambourines. People who only use computers are programmers, not musicians. There is a really big difference, and it can be heard in a lot of the phoned in amateur shit you hear in clubs. There is very little innovation in the "house" scene, and its genres like drumand bass that keep things moving forward. I feel you though. Very progressive
