I really dislike ageism attitudes. She's a great actress, beautiful lady, independent, I love her style, she dresses to please herself not others. Suggesting dementia is......I will refrain from commenting on that one. Who cares what her age is. She has talent and class. One of my favorite actresses. Still in the game at 75. I am not into celebrities at. all. and up until a few years ago I didn't even know about her, just got to know about her because of Brooklyn 99 mentioning her all the time. She seems to be a really great person, one of the few celebreties who keep it real, not always being fake because of the cameras. Really digging that! :)

It was dumb for the interviewer to call Keaton "confident." She is known for her insecurities and offbeat self-deprecating charm. No wonder Keaton is confused when the interviewer raises the issue.

To me, confidence doesn't necessarily mean that you don't have insecurities. Some people come off as confident because they are good at hiding their insecurities. Diane is confident in her fashion style and she is very open about her own insecurities. She owns it and that to me is confidence although it might sound a bit backward.

If you're a 75 year old woman with what seems to be a kind of dementia, people generally just tolerate you. They don't criticize your nutty hat and gloves BECAUSE you're JUST OLD. Diane Keaton confuses this silence for tacit approval. Her comic book VILLAIN hat and gloves do not impress as much as startle good taste. Can we all please just stop lying to her?

Remember, in Sunset Blvd. nobody tells Nora Desmond her career is over. Everyone just plays along with fantasy because it would be like waking up a sleepwalker. Diane Keaton is old, nothing wrong with that. Dressing like a 20 year old is just fantastically sad.
