Berlin spielen "Pink and velvet", eine wunderschöne Ballade. Der Titel ist auf dem Longplayer "Count three and pray" enthalten.
David Gilmour von Pink Floyd spielt in diesem Stück ein Gitarrensolo. Danke für diese Info @SpartanPict!

What!!!! I am on a mission to hear the many one hit wonder artists full albums, and this album is excellent. First time hearing it! When the guitars came in , I thought "wow, so good! Almost sounds like David Gilmour", and then I checked the comments and saw yours and others. I had no idea and have been a Floyd fan for a long time.

Count 3 and pray is Berlin's most bold and brilliant statement and showcases the talents of Terri Nunn who to me is one of the most talented female vocalists and this album should've broken Berlin wide open I think this album deserves a proper remaster and should be seen as an essential 80s classic

You are totally correct. To me this is one of my top 10 fav albums of all time. This song is the last song on the album and the perfect finish. It is so sad that it didn't make the band internationally famous as it should have. I've heard that the original recordings got lost in Universal Music fire so perhaps it will be difficult to remaster it 🙄

I saw Berlin live in Royal Oak Michigan when they were promoting this album. Great show! When they played this song we all put our lighters up (everyone smoked back then) and Terri walked down the aisle. My lighter was getting a little hot and started burning my fingers so I dropped it right when Terri was standing next to me. She gestured a kiss for my burnt hand while she was singing. Talk about cool... Berlin was my favorite band back then and to have Terri even acknowledge me was really a high point in my life.

Powerful, definitely. But not really before its time. This album's producer, Bob Ezrin, worked with Lou Reed on his 1973 album titled _Berlin,_ about a couple of drug addicts, and the woman, Caroline, often resorted to prostitution, or at least, sex with their dealer in exchange for drugs. This song could be taken as Caroline's side of the story.

@BenCulture
@BenCulture 8 жыл бұрын
It's not idenitical, but they make a deliberate shift into the key of B minor (the key of "Comfortably Numb") for Gilmour's two solos. And, of course, it's in that slow, Floydian tempo he's used to. I imagine he just showed up with his Strat, and banged these solos out in a couple of takes. Still, one of his best solos outside of Pink Floyd. And one of Berlin's better songs, period.

I always find it the Highway To Hell of Pink Floyd songs like Money and Wish You Were Here. Pink And Velvet for me just diminishes the work David Gilmour did elsewhere making me think he worked better as a session musician than he did in a band. Berlin also had great depth. A lot of Dark Side, Wish and The Wall sounds like Careful With That Axe Eugene with David bending shapes around it. I think that's why I've always preferred Camel because there's a lot more going on. You can trace their influences thought Caravan back to Soft Machine up through Gong. Berlin used Mike Howlet from the latter as many used Steve Hillage. That's why I always thought Soft Machine were a better band than Pink Floyd because they influenced more people.

For Steven harrold ❤ I truly see your worth. My feelings for you are true. You mean so much to me. Noone captures my heart the way you do. Noone cares for me like you do. Noone makes me feel like my best self like you do. This is no game, no lust or no joke. This is my truth. I could have any man but i choose you. I dont desire any other man. Other people's opinions of me doesnt change how i truly feel for you. Im sorry if its hard to understand why i care for you so much and so deeply i just do. There is no reason as ive said. I hope you will see that. I truly want to reconcile and truly get to know you more and share my life with you. You truly do make me very happy more than any other could. To be honest it crushes me that others try to derail things but they can never change my truth of how i feel for you. Im very sorry if others have let you down but im here to tell you that i will never do that to you. There is no other man who is as unique as you. I like unique. I dont like fake love. I value true unconditional love. I dont care how you look( you are very beautiful inside and out to me. Trust me you really are), i dont care about material things when it cones to love. I can tell you also desire true love. I am willing to show you if you would just give me a chance when you are ready. Steven, i promise you that you will be truly loved. Others dont make our life or choices. We do. I do love you and its not the love that others may assume. Its true love that is why i havent given up on you and i wont at any cost. I also deserve to be loved truly for who i am. I enjoy and cherish the beautiful times that we have shared together and i hope to have more with you. I feel whole and complete with you. I hope this makes sense and that you truly see the truth. I forgive your mistakes and i still except you. I know i have made mistakes too and i hope you forgive me as well. I desire to be your true love and win your heart. I trust very few people and i have healed from the past. If i were with you, you would truly be so loved as i would with you. You could be who you want and do whatever you'd like . id be very loyal( as i have been from the start). Trust me i know what it feels like to not feel truly loved but trust me you are. I just hope that you really see it. You are valued by me. You are loved and excepted. I also think that its cute that you like to find cool gadgets. I also do since i was a kid. I am also very unique and intelligent juat like you. It hurt me when others would say that you were immature and you use people. I stood up for you abd never found that true at all. I find it very appalling that some people who claim to be friends have used you and lie to you. I care so much for you that i will refuse to help people or have them as friends if they put you down or anyone else i care for down. That is why there are some people i no longer associate with. I dont care for fareweather people. I love helping people but not at the expense of being betrayed or backstabbed. I dont deseve it and neither do you. You are truly amzing Steven and i hope you really see that. I miss you too. I do have hope that things will get better. Im always here fir you steven harrold ❤
