Manshin(만신), a modernized version of Mudangchum

Mudangchum(무당춤) means a traditional Korean shaman dance. Literally, it is danced by one or more Mudangs or traditional Korean shamans often in a trance state.
The title of this performance is Manshin(만신), the background music of which is blended with some modern instrument sounds. The dancers look as if they were really in a trance state!

한국에서 올림픽 같은 국제행사를 할 때 이런 종류의 댄스 퍼포먼스 해도 죽일텐데. 부채춤과 농악은 이미 많이 보여졌으니까 전통 칼군무나 이런 무속춤 같은 걸 보여주면 경이로울 것 같다. 이 얼마나 아름다운가.

I liked the traditional dance shown on the TV show M*A*S*H on the episode "The Exorcist". Very nice to watch. I read that the woman was a real shaman.

Hi. Maybe the sounds are annoying because you're not used to the sounds. The Korean traditional instrument sounds represent the nature(sound, also the five elements) like Thunder, wind and rain etc., The natural thunders can be really strong to the ears. In addition, it's the traditional sharman dance and supposed to be strong, loud and out of mind state like. So that could be the reason. I hope it helps you to understand. Thanks.
