I'm a Democrat but Mayor Bynum has been a great Mayor. Mrs. Keith has been involved in the community for as long as I can remember, she's a good candidate. I do not know anything about the other Democrat. I'd love to see a Democrat as Mayor, it's been a long time since we had a Democrat as Mayor. As I listen to the debate I find Trey Savage, who's moderating the debate, to be a conservative leaning person, and very unfriendly. I love the answer Mr. Monroe Nichols gave about the tribes. We are on Indian land and the tribes are not in the wrong!! I'm impressed by Mr. Nichols. I did like the answer the Republican had about needing to address the drug and mental health issues of the homeless, the concer about that is, most Republicans consider a hand up to be a hand out. Not all of us have a great upbringing/childhood causing mental health and drug problems. I hope he's not a far right maga, doesn't seem so. Seem.

Before you vote democrat look at the Democrat cities and states. Look at their policies and what they've done to their cities. Their cities are a dumpster fire. Riddled with crime, they put criminals back on the streets and they defund the police. Their homeless population is through the roof and, most are sanctuary cities. Their citizens come last over illegal immigration

Based upon this debate I will be voting for Norman and here’s why. Nichols is a politician and only a politician. He referenced his credentials several times and they all were in political positions of executive higher ed. Many of his answers did not address the question that was asked. Also, used Appeal to Authority fallacy in his closing statement to imply his education makes him better than the other two. Keith wasn’t too bad but again gave her political accomplishments as her credentials. Her thoughts on homelessness and North Tulsa were weak or pointless. Her idea on the 24/7 mental health calls for Police was not there. She was for it but gave no indication of the monetary impact of that and how to handle that impact. Norman, I felt like answered the question more thoroughly in general. He answered the question about 24/7 mental health in Police and I felt like it was a valid and good answer. Honestly, I feel we benefit from having a businessperson in the seat and not a politician.

Sure, just what we need-a maga nut insurrectionist that is a part of the mind hive that inflicted ryan walters on us.. mayor bynum has worked v hard to get solid infrastructural programs in place and running, and we're headed in a good direction.. we have TONS of new economic investments-i.e., new cutting edge tech schools/programs from tech cert programs at the vo-techs, New tcc/ou partnership for advanced comp degrees offered to OK residents at ultra low cost, to the new OSU campus/programs, the real estate mkt is BOOMING, there's tons of new industry bynum has brought in.. his programs to aggressively address the homelessness issues with viable, results driven solutions, have been launching as fast as he has been able to staff them the past yr.. Point is, things are improving here in tulsa at a fairly rapid clip.. now is not the time to take a wild left turn and drive the bus off a cliff.. chk out the tulsa311 website, and at least educate urself about what ur city govt is actually doing rn and make an informed decision, rather than playing playing pin the tail on the jack*ss in the voting booth.its too important.

I've listened very closely to each and every question and their answers. I listened to their visions for the city. I have a clear understanding of who they are and, where they stand. Some questions were not ask that should have been but, hopefully they will be asked later on. My thoughts are this... You can't expect a different outcome by doing the same things. You can't expect a city to thrive and grow if they don't have access to the things they need to get there or if you have a leader who could care less. I look at different cities, their leaders and, I look at the policies they put is place. Is the city thriving? What are the issues and, what is and, not being done to fix those issues. If you want to live in a city you love and one that's thriving, you feed the city what it needs to thrive and flourish. Without good leadership, it won't happen.

Okay idk who the first guy is, but he is describing a homing/renting rate issue for Tulsa. Capitalism (business centric] indicates prices will sky rocket & become unaffordable due to state policies that limit municipal possibilities. It will create more homelessness & more/higher local taxes; which we all know from our essential bills already is at a tippinng point unless federal intervention corrects the excessive price gauging by business, real estate financial crisis, civilian program investing of taxes appropriately to meet standards + those realistically needing aid & other local/state/federal laws that stop pocketing money or diverg the funding of the intended funding from taxes to alternate sources that benefit the wealthy only (example: Education, Contract work, etc).

My question about “ending homelessness”. Right now a property owner has the choice of whether to “accept” an applicant that will use section 8 funds to pay their rent. I see two candidates here that will not admit it but will push to change that and force all owners to accept renters that cant afford their property without these funds.

This is not a democrat or republican. This is getting rid of the family dynasties that run for office. That’s on both sides. When Karen Keith says relationships she means kickbacks from developers, do whatever Kaiser wants or Quick Trip. She says she was going to fix this and that, but you been in office for over 15 years why didn’t you fix it then. Your neighbors in Brookside don’t even like you. She hasn’t had a real job since she left the news station. Just uses her name to help her attorney husband get connected to the right people and deals coming in through the city. YOU BEEN THERE FOR YEARS YOU HAVEN”T FIXED ANYTHING and trust me I doubt you have been to north Tulsa in awhile except for election years. Nichols enough said there didn’t show up for votes THAT’S YOUR JOB GETTING PAID BY TAX PAYERS and he really has done zero he has piggie backed a lot off off of people. Van Norman I would say has his priorities lined out and I think it is the time to give it to someone that is not tied in with the Tulsa families that think they run this city and that might actually help the north side to get things done. Added bonuses he has worked in getting companies on board and raising money and seems to have a moral compass. The other two have been in office for years and said the same things they said tonight back then and has not changed. You would be an idiot to vote someone in that’s been in office 15 years and got nothing done in karen keith, or vote Nichols who doesn’t show up for votes and still takes tax payers money. I am all in on Van Norman something has to changed and these two jokers are not it.

Regarding remarks to the effect, LE cannot treat individuals differently just because they have a diff license plate, bc it would necessarily lead to chaos in the city.. I just want to make the small point that, that is precisely what LE in our largest cities, and elsewhere for that matter, do, whenever they see a vehicle with 'Diplomatic plates".. and, I'm fairly certain this practice has not lead to NYC, or Philly, Boston, Miami, LA, etc, to erupt into violent anarchy, nor widespread destruction, murder and mayhem due to the thousands of visiting diplomats and their accompanying staffs running buck wild in the streets, freed of all restraint by their immunity.. make of it what u will.. Just sayin tho..
