In my pov, let the police do their investigation. Charge them, sue them, whatever it may be as long as they know that it is wrong and to not repeat the mistake. Whoever wants to boycott, its up to them bcs its their own money they can do what they want with it. For me, as long as there is legal consequences to the organisation that caused this, its enough since its their 1st mistake. God is all knowing, the most gracious and most merciful. All is well and good to see the DAP leader ship and MCA leadership coming out very strongly in defence of KK Mart on this sensitive issue. Even the non malay community iin large numbers came to KK Mart 's aid of defence and puts things right that the issue was unintended. Be that as it may, it was too sad to see that the aame magnitude herculene and reaction was adopted by these leaders especially from the DAP and MCA leadership on a controversial preacher Zamri Vinod causing disharmony stability in Hindu religion and faith. These leaders are kept mum and silent on this matter and seems to distancing away from making any comments or objections. Can this be taken as double standard reaction and be treated that Indian community rights are no longer relevant?? 😊

My perspective as a muslim : from the majority of the comments of non bumi in this section, shows that you do not understand your Islamic counterpart. Religion is big in all our decision / life. Even me as a semi religious, will not tolerate if ANYONE, Muslim or not, playing around with our religion or our God. Its just as simple as that. This is why you dont see any Islamic religion people do any offensive stuff to other religion, as we command the same respect when it comes to our religion. I hope those who read this, please try to understand and dont take it lightly. This is one of Malay frustration to non bumi, when they seem to not understand the basic respect to each other religion. This is the same game politician will use to later divide the bumi and non bumi. As a Malaysian: Like Kian Ming said, i do agree with him that we should try to forgive but not forget. as a Malay in this country, even without Akmal turning up the heat, most of us will secretly avoid KK mart for sometimes until the issue become old. Akmal is just using the issue to get the Malay majority support, and use this to show that non bumi doesn't understand that religion is not to play around about. This will later divide non bumi and muslim people, which mainly Malay, and will relate to the Race issue, which says that other race dont understand Malay, which the majority of the people here, so why are we sharing our "supposely" land with them. It is an old game and been around for years, however, to my surprise, it seems that for all the example that we have been through, the non bumi still dont know how to handle this issue. Just respect the religion, and don't do this kind of stuff. Its an easy solution, but the non bumi fail to understand. If i were the KK mart owner, i would have responded the same, but give more emphasis on steps in the future to avoid the same mistake, example, educate their worker to not play around with issue related to religion and race. So that they can report or become aware of this internally before it leaks to public. To make sure the suppliers understand KK Mart do not tolerate this kind of things happen in the future and step of prevention. That what most of normal Muslim people would like to hear. It will not stop the muslim from avoiding KK Mart for sometime, but at least we don't look them in a negative way in long term. People do mistake all the time, but u want to hear how it will not happen again. Regarding the 2 non bumi youth response, to be honest, for me, the upsetting part is giving comment like "u shouldn't boycott". It the same as being told to do something from someone who doesn't really understand why the muslim is upset. He can say like "I know KK Mart has unintentionally make a mistake, however in the future, they will not tolerate this kind of mistake and we hope that the muslim community can forgive them". That is enough. Because like i said previously, the muslim will avoid it anyway, telling them not to avoid is like going against them. Which later will embedded their mind that non muslim really doesn't understand the main issue here. Those are my personal opinion.

Well said. All religions deserve respect regardless of faith. Mutual understanding of each other's religions should be encouraged and celebrated for the greater good of humanities. You mentioned, in your opinion, that the comments here from mostly the non-Muslim viewers showed the lack of understanding, which I don't deny. But why the lack of understanding and insensitivity ? I would like you to imagine the scenario below. Imagine you have a school-going son who is very curious and interested in his Math subject at school. However, his Math teacher does not tolerate any mistakes or oversights, even genuine and innocent ones, from any of his students. Any mistakes will be met with severe and ruthless punishments. Apologies alone will never be good enough. Even asking the wrong question in class will have unimaginable repercussions. Whatever the teacher teaches and answers given can not be questioned or debated. Otherwise, it will be met with swift and brutal retaliation or even get kicked out of school. Your family may even receive death threats from the school because your son says the wrong thing in class. How long do you think your son's interest in the subject will last ? And will he ever make any effort in the future to better understand and continue to learn the subject he was once so innocently curious about ?? Will you still send your son to his Math class ??Please ponder.

Nice statement of Muslim perpestive, but we are not God. No matter how careful sop or whatever serious step you take, kind of this thing still maybe happen in any store or any religion of Muslim or non Muslim. In this case, could we said that kkmart is playing with your religion? Is kkmart a bad guy? Did kkmart try to avoid his responsibilities? Probably the kkmart worker who the one unpack and put it on the rack are Muslim worker. We just human, make mistake, so we apologise and make things right again. I believe that most Muslim already can accept at this stage, just a Muslim politician keep on calling for his own benefit make the situation complicated and He make it turn into a bully case. Perpestive of non Muslim, a student make a mistake, then the student apology and work hard to assure it will not happen in future. But the teacher angry and call all the student to boycott him. Ignore him and not to talk to him anymore. Yup, this is sensitive of Non Muslim, feelings uncomfortable with bullying happening now, it is a big issues for non Muslim surviving, because Muslim are majority and non Muslim are minority. Would Muslim willing to understand non Muslim concerns and worries?

Non Muslim here and I kind of agree with you on most non Muslim fail to understand the core of the issue. As for the reason why a lot of annoying comments from non Muslim. Here is my observation: 1) some old citizens mindset already fixed, no one can change they opinion. 2) Some of youngsters are just too burned out on series of boycott events, and they also having economic difficulties. It becomes a counter response to make these comments when it come to boycott related. 3) Hate & annoying comments travel easier and faster on social media, this is on both side. I do think we should move on but not forget this issue. I still have faith that we will be more understand to Muslim counterpart. As youngsters from non Muslim is making social media content to educates non Muslim community. I still upset that politician still use these to divide us up, where everyone is suffering due to poor economy performance.

@@CMCJJT The problem with your scenario is that, in that case, you are willing to learn. Im not sure a lot of non bumi willing to learn about Islamic religion if anyone being honest. So a lot the do and don'ts are not clear for non bumi. But everyone know that, the muslim will not tolerate anything bad regarding the Prophet, The Quran and Allah. This 3 was never a debate. u can debate some other teaching or issue, but this 3 was not an option, so why are you trying to change their point of view when these are no go front the beginning? you will not win anything trying to debate this 3 issues, which why i said, better to respect each other. If i were to use your analogy, the teacher have their own rules that they will not tolerate, the schools have their own rules that they will not tolerate, so its the same concept. Teachers don't tolerate cheating, why then u still want to cheat? Does caught cheating end with only apologies? Most likely not, if u lucky only your parent will be call upon, in University, worst case scenario u can get expel. So, u avoid those because the consequences are serious. This is what i think non bumi doesn't understand, the things related to our religion, can lead us to not compromise, due to the seriousness of the offence. So why not avoid the whole thing to begin with? Same as u try to avoid cheating with your teacher when u know the rules says that cheating is wrong? Why not make it easy for everyone, and avoid these kind of issues from the beginning? That why i suggest that the company maybe need to give awareness to their staff and supplier that these are not tolerable, so that you can avoid it from the beginning. As for the consequences of breaking the rules, everyone have their own opinion. im just telling you that, even without the call for boycott, the reaction most muslim will take is to avoid KK Mart if possible. It is in our consciousness that we do not support anyone or anything that reflect badly to the prophet, the al quran and Allah. Also, the way u are saying the teachers are not tolerable on any mistakes, please look at your surrounding, do you think most muslim doesn't tolerate? if they dont, you might not be in Malaysia anymore. U may find the politicions doesn't tolerate, try to use this issues as a way or means to get the support from the Malays, but look at your daily life, have the muslim not tolerate any mistake if u genuinely make a mistake about their religion? Please dont mix the reaction of a politician and a normal daily person. and, im not here to debate who right or wrong, im just saying that, since you dont understand the religion, but u know there are things they dont tolerate, try understand to avoid it before it happen. That is what respect should be. It will skip all the trouble u have to face and its harder to gain trust later on.

@@金月光翟 I didnt blame KK Mart, i only suggest steps they can take. Dont jump into conclusion. Also, im describing what Muslim will naturally do. and to be honest, avoiding or not is not an offence to begin with. i can choose to buy from other retailer even without this case or issues, so even if u think avoiding is a kind of punishment, people are free to choose. same goes to you, if u hear something bad about a brand, u choose not to buy, is that consider bullying? Please understand i use "avoiding", not boycotting, because its a natural reaction when u hear something bad about a brand and u avoid buying them. and your statement mainly base on politician reaction. i don't have the time to debate what politician do. My original post was to highlight that most non bumi doesn't understand why it became a hot issues for the muslim community, what the reaction will be and how to just answer it "politically" so that the issues go away. Do i sound like im backing up the politician that keep asking for Boycott? It is the muslim natural reaction is to avoid KK Mart for the time being, and they are free to choose. Right or wrong, its their personal choice. so, it would have been better that to avoid all these from the beginning as i mention earlier.

Speaking about the certificate of ownership for native customary right. The word "Native Customary Rights" is very significant. It means that only natives can have ownership of the land. If a bank gives a loan using the certificate as collateral and the person defaults on the loan, the bank cannot claim ownership of the land. So the certificate is useless as a form of collateral. This is my two cents.

You mentioned that Christians view the Bible differently from Muslims with regard to the Word of God, and that they had no issue with putting the Bible on the ground next to the feet. With due respect to you and your politics, I wish to clarify that as Christ believer. We do honour the name of God and the Scriptures in principle and practical. The ancient copyist of the OT deemed God's name so holy that the name should not be pronounced by unclean lips of men, so they removed the vowels. Also, they would washed themselves and pray for cleaning every time and before they wrote the name of God. We who are recipients of both Covenants do well to honour God's name. Our Lord Jesus taught that "Hallowed be God's name". What happened was that the ancient political- religious leaders honoured God ceremoniously in worship, and form in bowing down, and in sermons, but oppressed people for their political and personal gains, using God's name. We honoured God's name in substance by being gracious to our enemies and those who disagree with us. Likewise, we should not intentionally treat the Bible in a disrespectful way by throwing bibles around, on dirty ground. On the other hand, keeping the Bible in it's pristine condition, like a flower vase, by not reading it and only hearing from sermons, is most disrespectful and dishonouring to God. A Bible that is torn and tattered because it is well read and studied is honouring God. The ancient Berean Christians check Paul's teachings (NT) against the Scriptures (OT). Yes KP, Christ believers respect God's name and Scriptures, not just in theory but in real world practice, and in a sense, not that much different from true believers of other faiths.

This time though he finally got to capitalise fully on the sock issue. My personal view, it is OK for Akmal to call for a boycott to defend Islam. Common rights. BUT! UMNO and Akmal has to come out and be responsible to set the Rule of engagement to not let it become Malay vs Non-Muslim, Malay vs Non-malay. the Chinese bark when there is a hint of Malays wanting to boycott Chinese shops, but the Malays know that the Chinese have been boycotting Malay businesses for a long time, try asking yourself when was the last time you shopped at a Malay shop, you think the Malays don't know but the Malays still support the business Chinese, until they become the richest race in Malaysia because Malays are not racist (except for politicians) just don't touch on our religion because you will feel the reaction

Malaysian chinese here, my mum always told me that she enjoys going to Malay vendors in the pasar instead of Chinese vendors. She told me that Malay vendors are much friendlier and Chinese ones and I agree it as well. I enjoy eating Malay food and I support local Malay eateries as well. Regarding the religion issue. I would say that many non Muslims have a certain level of misunderstandings about Islam the majority of us have no basic knowledge about Islam. I've known many Muslim friends from many countries around the world and we talked about religion and they educate me about Islam and yes sadly many bad people use the name Islam of do bad stuffs (no offense here) which causes the people to be afraid of Islam. I truly believe that it is a beautiful religion. I think we should have communications between Muslims and non Muslims to avoid possible issues happening again in the future. Malaysia which is a diverse community should show the world that Muslims and non Muslims can live peacefully. Peace and cheers

What is shocking is UMNO MKT came out to support Akmal thus sealing its faith with the govt eventually by GE16.

As a Malaysian I am aghast at the level of disrespect in putting God’s name on an item of clothing worn over the feet which have to be washed when we enter any abode especially a house of worship in many Asian cultures. Furthermore Islam is the national religion of our country and the Christians in East Malaysia also refer to God as Allah. This is totally unacceptable to the majority of Malaysians. I hope the authorities will impose deterrent punishment for such blatantly unconscionable behaviour.
