this feels like a college tutorial session with the instructor gently guiding discussion and the students cautiously speaking up to get participation marks, I love it edit: normally Will's the one commended for being the grounding presence but Hasan does a great job here guiding and being patient so much that I'm getting freshman year deja vu

Yeah Will is the insane professor and then Hasan is the hunky grad student who you think is going to be a complete doofus, but then he is actually better at explaining the course material than the professor is.

It was so interesting to hear Tina talk about racial bullying in Colorado, where there is basically no Asian population (about 4% Asian population), compared to Miyoung not really relating to Tina on the subject since she grew up in the bay area (about 27% Asian population).

I'm a girl, love video games but I never call myself a gamer. Too many years of men belittling our choice in games, saying we're not real gamers no matter what. A woman can be immortal in valorant and they'll demean her saying she had to have been carried. I've never used voicechat in games, probably never will. Bad interactions I've had in discord servers cemented that.

Miyoung is like streamer who just say and do something natural and doesnt care about making herself interesting and just like hanging out as herself. Like, we can felt when content creator trying to make or think, or do something interesting for content, but Miyoung just like "oh well, Im here". its honestly doesnt too good for content creator, but I hope she doesnt change it. Teen girls drive popular culture through the ages as much of not more than any other demographic , but the general populace feels like they have a duty to shit on the things teen girls like. It’s the worst immaturity we carry through to adulthood is the urge to diminish the things people are passionate about or make people feel shame about “guilty pleasures”. Fuck guilty pleasures, if it’s something brings you joy or comfort, don’t feel guilty about it.

For example football (soccer) fans in the uk, who are predominantly men, can be just as obsessed if not more than what kpop stans can be. Crying at the outcome of a match, screaming their lungs off at a tv or in a stadium, arguing with someone over a take they disagree with, fighting someone because they support a different team. But those same men think it's so crazy that women are fans of things

As an OG Minecraft player I always feel the need to point out that Minecraft BR's aka Minecraft Hunger Games was actually the first video game to imitate the Battle Royale movie genre in game form. Then we got like DayZ and Arma 2 doing BR mods, H1Z1 etc. before games like Fortnite started coming about. I like that fact cus it's weirdly unexpected?

This episode really highlighted for me just how massive a human Hasan is. Like the juxtaposition in size between him and Miyoung and Tina is just so jarring if you try to focus on all of them at once. Like Hasan somehow has more mass than both of them combined and it's like Wow! There are two fully developed, autonomous, adult human beings sitting there talking with a man so giant he's bigger than both of them combined and that's just normal. Like how is that a thing? Idk maybe I'm just really sleep deprived and tired. That's probably it. It's just wild to me.

29:31 as a Canadian that doesn’t live in Vancouver I can say that the snow sucks sometimes. I mean in the beginning it’s nostalgic when the snow is snowing drying the day and the snow is fluffy and everything is white. But then the snow becomes hard, the cars make the snow super brown, and it’s very very cold. The worst part however is the beginning of spring, when the snow starts melting and there’s giant puddles. But overall the snow is very nostalgic and it isn’t bad, but if you’ve lived your live in a sunny place with no snow you wouldn’t want to live in a place that sees the beginning, middle and end of a snowy winter. The beginning of winter in like Switzerland or the Rocky Mountains may be cool and it stays like the beginning of winter for much much longer. But that’s about it. Dressing for the winter is also annoying as fuck. Also Taiwan is still like on the same plane of the rest of the northern hemisphere, I bet it’s snowed there before.
