The song you’re hearing in the video is called “Space Dog” by Sanae Shintani which was released on 2004. If you listen closely to the lyrics, It was made for the dog “Laika”, Laika was a soviet space dog and also one of the first animals to go to space and the first to orbit the earth. She was a stray dog at the streets of Moscow, she flew aboard the Sputnik 2 spacecraft, launched into low orbit on 3 November 1957. Unfortunately she died of overheating for hours.

It's not about Laika, it's about the good ending we never got and would have been impossible anyway. What Russia did was patently obviously unethical. Like, never mind even speculating on how a dog might stay alive for the entire journey, including the return, getting the ship back to where it was launched from was way more prohibitively complex than launching it in the first place, and furthermore, instructing a LITERAL DOG on how to deal with the process of RETURNING to Earth safely would be impossible. They just wanted a doomed warm-blooded mammal to spy on remotely to get a clearer sense of what to prepare for, but they didn't have the money to spend on G-force simulators and shit like America did. It's the same way this stuff always goes at first: Damn the consequences, full speed ahead.

Off topic from all the 'whos from tiktok?' comments, heres a story to read thats dedicated to this video: When I first watched this video, I was in a awfully bad mental state because of all the schoolwork and tests, and this little 'girly' commercial cheered me up. I also found out this video was released a month before my birthday, and it was in the month my dad that just so happened to be born in. Surprisingly, mentioning the song 'Space Dog' (?), my dad knew a lot about space and I did too, and I learned a bunch from him. The dog part however, gives a melancholy feeling of my now deceased dog, Jackson. pop'n music is pretty cool. it has a brazilian dj who is also the god of the world, gay people who also have a child.(nyami and mimi here, not canon but is probably the most common headcanon in the community), idol twins, sans undertale (this is not a joke hes actually in the game), "THE KING", and literally hundreds more characters. one of my favorites being alt, a robot girl idol who has this cute song "ai date pop"

Actually, AI Date Pop is the name of the genre (You see, every song has been giving some sort of silly individual genre name. Of course there’s generic ones like Eurobeat, Heavy Metal or Latin. Some weirder genre names include Oriental Folklore, Animal Minimal, and Pupcore.) The actual name is Sumidagawa Summer Love. From what I know, it honors Tanabata, a Japanese holiday that takes place every July 7th.
