Also this was the first innings of KL Rahul as a WK batter at no.5 in Odi's , since then he has been India's most consistent no.5 batter in Odi's !

Biggest example wc final knock of 66(107), it was not even bad, but just 1 innings where even though he was highest scorer, people forgot his 97* vsAus, 100*(62) vsNED, 39*(20) vsNz sf and 114* vsPAK......... ICT fans are synonymous with the word DOGLA🤡

God knows why Indian management forced him to be an opener. They should have played him in the middle order from the very beginning. From 2016-17 itself.

@@rupakkar7483 How do you decide that? We opened with him in T20Is and what happened later should have been a clear indicator that he is not comfortable against the new ball. He struggles there but in the middle order, he has to face spin and mostly defensive bowling and he is very good at rotating the strike, hitting big shots against spinners, playing cuts and pulls, and most importantly playing across the line and hitting sixes without having to charge down the ground. Also he is very good in the death overs. These are the quintessential qualities of a middle order batter that India needed at that time from him..But our management, captain were not visionary enough..

@@AyushRaj-rt6bb He batted in the middle order from 2016-2017 in Odi's but was a bit underwhelming as a middle order batter at that period of time and also management was rotating players couple of more players in the middle order at that time , also he was picked as a middle order batter for WC 2019 but did pretty well as an opener in that tournament in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan. Also your take about him being not good enough against the new ball isn't ideal he has a 2 Tons in England and 1 in South Africa as a Test Opener. Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri were visionary enough , the middle order which consists Shreys Iyer and KL Rahul in WC 23 was established under theire tenure in 2021 !
