After living in Brazil for almost 2 years I've gotten very used to only speaking in Portuguese. HOWEVER, my family does not understand whatsoever.. so we are gonna see what happens if I only speak Portuguese ALL DAY!!

I didn't read the subtitles because I'm Brazilian. However, I have been living in Bali, Indonesia for the past 16 years. Therefore, I've learned English in school. But when it comes to Portuguese, I only speak it to friends who I've met through the years here in Bali and family. When it comes to English, I only speak with my school friends who have already graduated. Here is the funny thing: my brother and I only speak English to each other because we both were alphabetized in English from a young age, but with our parents, we speak Portuguese even though they know how to speak English as well. I hope that's not too complicated to understand i just wanted to tell my story :) . ..... btw I thought for someone who is American and only learned Portuguese in a short time your Portuguese is perfect and the accent is as well. parabéns Klai!

Speaking Spanish was definitely a struggle for me at first after I went to Mexico and Guatemala when I was a child. Both my parents understand English, but speak Spanish often especially at home. I speak more Spanish and understand the language better than when I first started. I only speak Spanish to my family or when I need to translate English to Spanish to someone doesn’t speak English fluently. I only speak English to my friends since my friends don’t understand and speak Spanish. I also only speak English when I’m at college.Sometimes, I will speak both languages at work. Learning a different language is more difficult and challenging at first. However, it’s gets much easier to understand when traveling to Mexico and Guatemala to visit my family. I would love to Travel to many places like Spain,France, Italy, and many other countries. My dream vacation is to visit Europe especially Paris someday. I love to travel with my family or friends.

facts! As a Brazilian myself Spanish and Portuguese are very similar however the only thing that changes is the grammar and the language of course :) but in my opinion, Spanish is easier to learn :P

Speaking a different language is more challenging and difficult to understand at first. From my own experiences, learning a different language at first could be challenging and difficult because I was struggling to communicate with my family when I first traveled to Mexico and Guatemala especially when both my parents speak Spanish often especially at home. Sometimes, it could be challenging when I’m trying to translate English to Spanish to help others communicate and understand each other especially when someone doesn’t speak English since it’s not their first language.
