▶ STORYLINE :
Klaus and Elena have been boyfriend and girlfriend for many years until Alaric stakes Klaus with the white oak stake due to Esther turning him into an original vampire. When Elena finds out he died her world comes crashing down, she starts drowning in her grief, even resorting to taking the magical drugs luke gave her so she can hallucinate Klaus. Alaric (who is back to his normal self) offers to help Elena by taking her memories away of Klaus. During the process of trying to pinpoint the moment Elena knew she loved Klaus she remembers their life together, and in the end, she forgets she ever loved him.
