After Hayley Klaus learnt to trust, but not many people . 2) He cared for her like she was his wife, yes I’m talking about love. Well Said I never got Caroline shippers but understood Cami shippers, cause that one was obvious. But Hayley would have been endgame and he only realized that he should have fought and protected her from the start. From season one you could have seen he was in love with her. From the fact that he wasn't pleased with her and Elijah attraction to each other. As well as not wanting another man to be a step father of his child. They understood each other and respected each other. Alot could have developed from their little interactions. Klaus didn't know how to love any woman. He only loved his family and he considered her family. From ruining the pack she loved and letting her suffer for 6 months, kinda feels like the dagger in the chest that he gives each of his siblings. Klaus has a funny way of showing how much he loves someone. If he didn't care about her, he would have just killed her pack and Jackson. Since he did not like Jackson, and planned to kill him on his wedding night. He just didn't because of Elijah wise words and he didn't want Hayley to hate him. Elijah wanted to protect Hayley but Klaus wanted her to find herself and grow stronger. Or else he wouldn't have allowed her to get close with her pack or be willing to give them rings that could make them stronger. It wasn't just because of Hope, he did that for Hayley. He was happy when she turned a hybrid like himself. The sacrifices he made weren't just for Hope, it also included Hayley. Klaus considered Hayley one of his, or else he would never would allow the wolves to live under his roof. He did that so Hayley wouldn't have to make a choice. He also did not trust Jackson or like him.

After Hayley died, I think Klaus regretted not pursuing a relationship with her. It sounded a bit like that when he said he should have been there more for she and Hope. He regretted not accepting her pregnancy earlier and being their for her. Its because of that, he lost his chance to Elijah cause Elijah was always there for Hayley and he treated her kindly. And we all know that of Klaus wanted a relationship with Hayley, he could have it anytime because the spark was there. But Elijah loved her and he respected that.

The producers still have a chance to correct this in legacies, even if it's one episode. Just bring Hayley and Klaus back. Give Hope the parents who would rather sacrifice themselves to save her back. If Klause terrible parents could keep coming back after centuries. Give her back the parents who loved her selflessly. And this time give us Klaus and Hayley story. He gave up loving her because he was too late. From the moment she called out Elijah when she was hurt, and he saw how close they were. He decided to let them be together. I believe Hayley only reminded Hope of the dance because she didn't want Elijah to hate himself for not saving her. But the second time around give us Klaus. The fact that he craved her name at her grave says alot. She was the one that he was too afraid to love and the one he should have fought for. Klaus made alot of mistakes but the one he will truly regret is not being there for her during her pregnancy
