Richard W: You probably already know this, but: "X" was actually supposed to be the soundtrack to the movie "Barracuda" (which I've never seen any of). With the money he was paid to compose the soundtrack, Klaus was able to hire an orchestra to play along with him, Wolfgang Tiepold (on cello), and Harald Grosskopf (on drums; unless Klaus recorded himself on drums and played the recording while he played keyboards). There's also an alternate soundtrack to the same movie, but I prefer "X". One other thing: If you listen to the looped/orchestral section of "Ludwig II von Bayarn" and you've listened to any of Bach's music, you should recognize one of Klaus' inspirations for it: the first part of Bach's "St. Matthew Passion". Back when I still sang in choirs, I sang in a chorus that performed almost all of the "St. Matthew Passion" in English. When I heard "Ludwig II von Bayern" the first time, I thought, "Wait a minute! I know I've heard something like that before!" And apparently I had. (It's possible it was simply subconscious on Klaus' part, but it shows that his exposure to music went beyond electronic music, rock music, and Wagner.)
@RichardW0014 жыл бұрын
According to the notes in the Ultimate Edition, My Virtual Principles was the alternative version of the Barracuda soundtrack. I thought I had uploaded it, but I can't find it on my channel.

Richard W: I think I have "Virtual Principles" in iTunes (I have the Historic Edition and I think the Ultimate Edition as well (I don't think it's the Jubilee Edition); I wasn't able to get the Silver Edition; it went out-or-print by the time I even knew it existed). I'm not sure which Edition it's on and which CD it's on.

Ah. I'll have to haul out my copy of Historic Edition and look up CD #7. Thanks for pointing me to which CD. I will also click on your link. Thank you also for that. Just read the info on CD #7. Always nice to know the history behind Klaus' compositions, even if (sadly) some others have unknown pasts. But I can understand that, as a creative artist, creating something new is usually far more interesting than having to keep track of what has already been created. With my own music (nothing professionally released), I've tried to remember when and where and why I composed/performed/recorded the compositions. Unfortunately, that only occurred to me years later, so some compositions have dates and maybe which keyboard (and which sounds on that keyboard), but not why I composed/performed it. Since I primarily improvise, the inspiration (or inspirations) is often forgotten after I finish playing the composition. One that I remember the most about has actually been posted to KZbin (by me). It's called "A Bremerton Christmas". The slide show I added it to actually has nothing to do with the original music. I wanted something for the listener to look at while listening to the music (which is a little over 47 minutes long) so I included photos I'd taken during various Christmases when I was visiting friends and relatives in Washington State. You're welcome to watch/listen to it, if you want. It's not as fancy as anything by Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, etc. It's just me playing on a comparatively inexpensive Yamaha keyboard (no sequences, no drum machine patterns). But I'm glad it exists. It was my last Christmas gift to my late father before he died 13 years ago and he said he liked it. He even said, "No one will believe this was played by one person." And I replied, "They'll have to, because it was."

Not only 1 of his best ... just one of the best ' electronic ' pieces ever to come to ear . Breathtaking . People ought to realise/know ( brought to light years later ) that there is an uncredited orchestra on here .. Perhaps KS thought they did not need to be given any credit ... Who knows .... Still .....
In 1978, the German publisher P.O.E.M. Musikverlag Klaus D. Mueller (Berlin) had published a "Facsimile Edition" of the original, hand-written score, including a "conductor's score & electronics" (looking really weird) as well as the scores for the first violins, second violins, violas, cellos, and bass. In the preface, the publisher states, "The title was recorded by the composer Klaus Schulz on various electronic instruments, plus string orchestra conducted by Wolfgang Tiepold, in summer 1978 at Studio Panne/Paulsen in Frankfurt/Main".

Today is one day before GOOD FRIDAY 2021. As I am a music junkie and there are no real signs of CHRISTIAN BEHAVIOUR in Starnberg/Bavaria anyway,I couldn't help myself starting the day with some tunes that appeared like a holy ghost vibration in my right brain first :GIMME SHELTER by the Rolling Stones made me feel very s e l f r e a l i z e d..I listened to the screenversion on my android with the lyrics...then REFUGEE by Tom Petty...after which I felt guilty, because those rock tunes sound so sexy and people consider me a prostitute anyway (or a lunatic) and I needed to somehow go to a more serious vibe...my right brain immediately triggered through my extremely functional neurotransmitters the KLAUS SCHULZE endless memoryloss vibe of his LUDWIG II of BAVARIA tune...now that I sm just about to drown in it like King Ludwig II supposedly did after the violent hankypanky with his psychiatrist and me ,myself and I in 1975,when I performed with Klaus as a singer in URSULAKIRCHE München (alte Suppen soll man nicht aufwärmen und chronologisch alte Menschen ab 60 sowieso ins Altersheim stecken) I decided to stop this endless black hole sound and listen to CHANGELING by the DOORS...at least with the DOORS the reality check is secured due to the fact that I am festured with JIM MORRISON's watch on my right wrist in Ray Manzarek's (keyboarder of the DOORS) docu on the early Doors entitled:LOVE HER MADLY... Let's now all wair for a passionless GOOD FRIDAY (pain and NDEs always teach us how to overcome passion) and a f a b u l o u s disappearance act on EASTER...into another dimension that is (while still remaining in this one and being nice and well behaved and act as if an empty bankaccount is exactly what is needed for useless eaters like me on Easter)
