that wasnt her point. her point was that men do the same thing and dont get called out on it - which is still an extremely stupid argument in itself, because its like saying "i murder people but this serial killer hasnt been caught yet so why should i go to jail?" in a court of law. secondly, shes not considering the fact that her umpire is literally CARLOS RAMOS, like one of the most if not the most strict umpire on tour - and hes had extremely controversial calls like this before, and, news flash - a large majority of them were on men - not women. so essentially she was trying to generalize umpires based off of different events between different umpires which is stupid because its like comparing apples to oranges. if this had been a man in the same situation he would have 100% hands down received code violations by ramos. not only this but it just goes to show how braindead the people in favor of serena are considering they praised her lack of honor for telling people to stop booing during osaka's ceremony, when she was the reason they started booing in the first place. in short, serena williams and her diehard fans need to get their head out of their ass and learn something about tennis for once on their life. her and her sister have been doing these dumbass antics for years now and im glad theyre finally getting called out on it 👌

+Alan Braham geez Braham... It is like logic has escaped you. First of all. There is no one alive that held slaves. The people that are alive today is not responsible for their forefathers. If you actually think that then you're in baaaaad bad trouble considering your "peoples" history. Second, she and all of her "people" benefits from this "stolen land". She would not be a world famous Tennis player if it was not for that very "stolen land". You would not be alive today if it was not for that "stolen land". Also, it was not free slave labour. Slaves were sold from mostly Africa by other Africans to trading companies. Who then transported them to the new world and sold them to there. On the way there they were fed and clothed. Mostly not a lot of food but a dead slave is no profit. You got employees who is taking care of this whole business too, who needs to be paid. You need to buy transport ships. Already here we've got at least 5 transactions of goods and services. The slaves would then get housing, clothing and food. All costing money. Obviously, no one in their right mind will argue that slaves was not treated badly but saying it was free slave labour is wrong.
@stoffni6 жыл бұрын
Ooooh shit.. you're one of those religious nutjobs. Are you deliberately this daft? I already took this up, in my past post that you even responded to. A child is not responsible for the actions of her father. For the same reason that I am not responsible for the raids my ancestors has done all over Europe and the Middle east. Collective responsibility is a very dangerous thing and you would think twice before advocating for it Alan. As there is some dark daaark history in your religion and your ancestors continent. Slavery was a normal thing in Africa long before the transatlantic slave trade. The whole it was "israelites" is bullshit if I ever had heard it, please give me literature on that. Serena was having a temper tantrum as a child, not a Tennis player. If anyone, acts like she did, they too would be called out for acting like a child. Alan, take off your racist glasses for a second and understand that it is not always about race. Maria Sharapova had medical reasons to take the medicine that is banned. It had only recently been added to the list of banned drugs. Maria still got shit for it and she also got banned for 2 years but was later reduced to 15 months for the reason stated. The judge even concluded that she was not taking it for doping intentions but that she should have kept herself updated on the banned substance list. This is not a case that benefits your racist narrative Alan. The fact that you said "guarantee there wasnt" only shows that you don't actually know. How about you research the shit you spew... This is not the first case of Serena having a temper tantrum. Including threating side judge. Serena is a priviledged, spoiled child and she acts like it too. Her coach cheated, which he even said himself and there is footage of it. Whether others do it or not is not a defense, it is against the rules and they got caught. Serena got a strike for this (a warning), at this point Serena could have just bite her tongue and continue to play but she didn't. She decided to bash her racket into the ground, another thing that is against the rules and so she was penalize a point as a second warning. Then she berates the judge and accusing him of being a thief and she gets the third warning which means a walkover. She was given a ton of chances to continue playing but she did not and got served the book. Serena is a public figure. Out of her own decision. Public figures will be praised and berated depending on how they act. This is only normal as someone who is in "power" should be able to be criticized. That is not hatred. She acted like an idiot and people called her out on it and got annoyed that she tried to use the fact that she was a woman and a mother as a cop out pissed people off. You like so many others suffer from a victim mentality. Always a victim! What you thought was unfair was a total underdog of 20 years playing in her first major final denying you the “right” to you 24th major title! You, Serena, were Naomi Osaka’s idol. Even after your disgraceful behaviour she still showed you respect by bowing to you after the match in Japanese fashion. But now she should treat you with utter contempt. You, Serena, are one of the greatest athletes of all time - but I thoroughly deprecate your disgusting behaviour, and you no longer deserve any respect. George Rusch They have called umpires even worse than Serena (especially Roddick) and they have admitted that much as well. I remember Safin being guilty of that on a few occasions as well. My problem with Serena is that she does not think she did anything wrong just because others have gotten away with it. RULES ARE RULES. Everyone does it is a stupid excuse. She should of been apologizing in her press conference. Tennis is right up there with Cricket when it comes to the code of conduct you expect. They are both the Gentleman's sport. You would never see a batsman arguing with an umpire, ranting on live television even if he was wrongly given out. She showed that she was entitled and classless. I am sure if she had been winning the match her conduct would have been different though.

Look at her bulkiness and her rage. Tennis is not weight lifting, but a running sport, it gets you thinner not bulkier. Steroids on the other hand do just that, they increase the muscle mass 2-3x. The "greatest of all times" is choke full of steroids. Men get punished all the time sometimes they lose matches but behave after, she on the other hand thought that she could pull two extra cards and continued her rage. I am talking about the woman card and the race card. A couple of months ago she cried discrimination when the drug officer from USADA showed up to her door 12 hours earlier. She had the drug test scheduled and no complaints, yet when the officer showed up hours earlier she claimed that she was being tested too often. Lance Armstrong was never caught doping and he was the cycling greatest of all times by a large margin. When she said "you will never, ever, ever, be on a court of mine" shows that she knows the people in power in WTA who she can control. She is who she is because of the political correctness driven system who desperately needs to create a hero (GOAT) with her profile.

I like she claims she is not a cheater when in 2011 she locked herself in a panic room in her home when a drug tester showed up & called 911. Guess what she never had to give a urine sample. Then in 2015 French open she tested positive for prednisolone - a banned corticosteroid. But got around it because she had a doctors note. Tennis drug testing is very weak at best. Says she is not a cheater but I am 100% positive she has taken PED's to get a advantage at least once in her career. For one look at the size of her head when she was 18 & look at it now. Her head is much much bigger now. This is a sign of steroid use. Also she has been spotted a few times with bad acne on her back which is another sign of steroid use.

Curtis Childers no, he wasn’t right, all coaches coach from their seats. It’s in their nature. No one gets called for it, because it’s COMMON KNOWLEDGE. If you choose to call it, it’s because your looking for a reason to penalize the player. The only thing she should have been hit with was destroying the racket, because I watched Federer cus Ramos out at the French open without even a warning. I don’t think he likes the Williams sisters in general because he did the same shit to Venus a few years back. The worst thing is his petty calls cost Osaka her moment, because no one is talking about her when they should be.

christophermarang - when you get pulled over for a traffic violation, just tell the officer that everyone does it. I’m sure you will have gotten pulled over just because the officer has it in for you. If you jump out of your car, and start yelling at the officer, it will probably go badly. Instead of a ticket, you’ll probably get taken to jail. The really good news, is someone like yourself will say how unfairly you were treated... for acting stupid! I need to set you and Knowles straight: the coach's signal was the first violation, which was a warning. Breaking her racket was the second code violation, so he took a point. The third violation was verbal abuse, and on the third violation a game is taken. Ya'll seem to be under the impression that the game she's talking about being taken from her was one that she lost due to the point penalty. I don't know how she would have done had none of this happened, but she defeated herself at least in part by not letting the first warning go and letting herself get worked up about something that really wasn't a big deal.
@ravissary796 жыл бұрын
I'm not seeing the conflict with what's being said here, but you're right. The issue was lack of emotional discipline and acting out. that's it. She wasn't even the cheater, the coach was. Her actions hurt female sports more than it helped. The people who are anti women’s sports saw it as women are too emotional to play. Remember the movie 42? This has made my blood boil more than anything has for a while. Serena has cleverly played the 'women's rights' card to try and justify her poor behaviour. She did this again in 2009 when she told a lineswoman "I will ram this f*cking ball, down your f*cking throat!" when she called out a foot fault, that she had actually made, it transpired. Her first reaction when she was called over was to mock the lineswoman and said "Are you scared?" sarcastically, then Serena said to the officials that others have said a lot worse. It doesn't matter if others have said worse things and on this more recent occasion, the umpire was strict, as he has been with both male and female players in the past; sentiments echoed by Nadal and Novak on previous occasions. Even in the press conference afterwards, she believed she was still standing up for women's right so they are allowed to be emotional on the court in future; the problem is, that the rule is enforced because that behaviour is unacceptable to the umpire, the viewers and most importantly to the opposing player/players. She has said that other male players have not been penalised in the same was but John McEnroe was disqualified in 1990 at the Austrailian open, for almost the same behaviour. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5CVo52lmNtggNE

Serena has a history of foul play, threatening lines-women with “I’ll Shove These Balls Down Your Throat” Serena & the NY Crowd who Booed Umpire Ramos & Osaka have no clue, it was the most appalling act I’ve seen on the Tennis court since the McEnroe era. She acted the same during her matches against Clijsters & Stosur & guess when she was throwing tantrums? Yep when she was down & losing on the scoreboard- Serena may be a great tennis player & athlete but as a role model or ambassador she would be the worst person to choose, you would think with her experience, age, achievements she would know & understand Championship qualities. She was first warned about getting coaching from the stands. There was no penalty for that only a warning. She should have corrected her behavior, submitted to the rules and continued with the game. She then broke her racket - violation number 2, for which she lost a point. She could have stopped there. But no! She persisted with verbal abuse - violation number 3, which resulted in a lost game. I am not sure as to why there is such controversy around this. It seems pretty clear to me. She earned her way to having a game taken away. Sportsmanship is as much part of the game as is playing, because we are suppose to be civilized people. And as far as rights for women, I believe that the men play more games than the women yet women get the same pay. Now how is that fair to the men of tennis. No excuses for bad behavior. And how much do those rackets cost? What a waste of money.

Worst sore looser ever. She was getting her butt kicked in by 20 year old and couldn't handle it. She ruined it for her. Good job Serena. The fans in the stadium should be ashamed for applauding her tantrum and berating the official. Unbelievable. I would love to see her lose again to Osaka and see if she pulls off the same poor sportsmanship.

JustMe because people are acting like she is notorious for being a sore loser, when this is one incident that happens with her, and many other tennis players every blue moon. Federer has broken his racket a few times and people don’t go off and call him the worst loser ever. Hell she gets her ass kicked a lot and never makes excuses for her loss. Clearly the people in the comment section don’t watch allot of tennis and have a clear bias.

Strong women do not take pride in their "right" to act as BADLY as men...and get away with it. I'm sorry but if that is womanhood that is a disgrace, an embarrassment and a tragedy and as I've always said, if a stranger on a tv screen is YOUR kid's "Role model" YOU are and YOU have failed as a parent, that a stranger they have never met, does not know is their model and it it is now that Stranger's supposed responsibility to behave in a way towards a child that God has not placed in their care, you are a derelict Parent... I feel sorry for Serena and her child, because she will no doubt be raised under this immature false ideology of weakness and victimhood and lack of personal responsibility. No thank you Serena, women have a history of truly strong women, who carried themselves accountably, self controlled & did not define strength as while being in the wrong diverting blame & anointing themselves as the savior of future generations of women who are apparently lost without famous people pleading their fake cause...

Every GOOD thing comes to an end sometimes and Osaka time will come to an end also But she should not have handle it that way she should have had a private meeting with the officials and then vent her feelings But she did not handle it like a woman with brains she involving her child in the situation SERENA they don't care a Rats ASS about your child and you being a Roll Model for women RIGHTS what women are you talking about not Black women because you never mentioned Black women but women I don't like what w went down and The umpires did not handle the situation the right way and you didn't either there are many ways to skin a Cat and you were in many obstacles like that before Did your Husband Ohanian ADVISE you to be Cool get a grip and to be MILD tempered the game was there for you to grab Did you grasp the opportunity Did you let those people play with your mind You are responsible for your own actions Maybe you wanted Osaka to get the win and you did not care Jesus talk about Mildness Modesty and Self Control and being Humble and that is what you did not project Instead you carry on like a Bull in Heat It should be a Lesson and if you get back on Court which I think you will think about the advice and work on it .🤔

Chad Loveless Her fine should be given to the umpire whom she insulted. SHE cheated, and then SHE lied about it, SHE received 1 850 000 USD minus the 17 000 USD, and the umpire received 250 USD. The umpire was on the receiving end of her vile insults, and managed to keep a cool head - I would probably not have been able to! Where will the 17000 USD fine go to ? Back into the USTA bank account, so that its president Katrina Adams can come out again in support of Serena‘s next ferocious, vile, and blindly narcissistic rant ? Serena ought to be suspended for at least six months, then she would have more time to devote herself to her new role of a Superhero for Woman‘s Rights. The whole story is obnoxiously farcical. I agree with all points made in your comments. The Women's Final was a debacle because Serena Williams made it so. I recognize her talent and was cheering for her in her comeback to the sport after giving birth. I was appaled at her behavior going from bad to worse, arrogantly treating the empire as an inferior, twisting the events and playing all the political cards to suit her needs. The only thing she is role modeling to her daughter and young people out there, is how to throw major tantrums when things don't go your way.

She is a cheat (she admitted looking at her coach, who then admitted cheating). She is sexist, (as she is unjustifiably pulling the sexist card - she was, after all, playing another women, who incidentely, was not subjected to any 'sexist' punishment, but then of course, who had simply played fairly). She is a sore loser. And she is a hypocrite (having spent the match cheating, and distracting her opponent by her antics, she then virtue-signalled by pretending to sympathise with her, and to protect her from a stupid and partisan crowd). Disgusting!
