Nah F that Klay cried and pouted like a baby. The Warriors gave him a $190 contract as he was sitting out two and half years. That’s his respect right there! And then to be offered $24 mill a year and to turn it down for $15.5 from a team that showed him nowhere near the respect and reverence the Warriors have is BS to me. He acts as if the Warriors somehow paid him the ultimate disrespect and it just simply isn’t true. As a die hard Warriors fan I’ll always have love for Klay but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I lost a little respect for how he handled this situation.

What are you even talking about? Both Kyrie and Luca played great defense in the playoffs. They needed more scoring help and Klay will at least draw defenders. At most he will be a legitimate 3pt threat. He might not be producing the same as in his prime but he’s still averaging 18 a game and was third all NBA in catch and shoot threes.

He (Klay Thompson) made the wisest right decision. Klay Thompson now plays with a more younger and hungrier Dallas Mavericks team (presently the Western Conference Champions), compared to the Aging Los Angeles Lakers team that made it to the NBA finals way back in year 2020. In addition, Klay Thompson will not have to deal with Lebron James. To also add to it, Klay Thompson will be coached by Jason Kidd (a more experienced Coach compared to Coach JJ Redick of the Los Angeles Lakers team) and will have more respect there at Dallas. To also add to it more, Klay Thompson will not have to pay all those kind of taxes like he was paying when he was playing for Golden State Warriors team there in San Francisco, California State, United States. A report just came out about how Warriors owner Joe Lacob was using a manipulative negotiating tactic with Klay, which he had done with other players, where he would ignore them and be cold, hoping they would come back to the negotiating table, begging to sign a new deal with the team. Frankly, after seeing that, I don't blame Klay for leaving. As a Warrior fan, that really makes me question the amount of respect Lacob has for his players. Instead of playing mind games, he should be having an open dialogue, without all of these sneaky, manipulating tactics.

Stephen A. literally has no idea what he is talking about. Players pay income tax for every state that they play in! So if Klay (while on the mavs) plays the Lakers at the Crypt. Klay pays california tax for that day. If Klay was offered 8 million more per year in GS, he would have made MORE money at golden state. Thats with taxes included. People need to understand math.
