What if Steven Spielberg directed a new Jurassic Park film? The world a movie sequels is full of stuff that often tries to emulate what came before, but I think this dinosaur brand would be a fun challenge for Steven to actually tackle again. He hasn’t directed one of these since 1997 and I’d love to see him do another one filled with Raptors and T.rexes!

I feel like Steven was really the only director that the franchise has had that actually 'got' Jurassic Park. It probably helped that he knew Crichton personally. I doubt he will make a return to Jurassic, but I would love to see him do so.

Well, the idea of Spielberg's return to Jurassic series is beautiful, and deep down, I'd love to see this happen. But after numerous cases of failed returns, like Shane Black's return to Predator in 2018, or even Ridley Scott's last Alien movies, I have big doubts.

100% the reason why the franchise has been suffering is because Steven isn’t directing. He is a fantastic story teller that is passionate about his job. The thing about Spielberg is that, where many directors have their own directorial style, it's hard to put a finger on what makes Spielberg's films so great. It's clear the man has ingrained into his soul the cinematic techniques from all the films he's repeatedly watched as a movie lover and he probably couldn't tell you how he does what he does. He has a vision, then he films it as he saw it in his mind. Then, the success of his films gives him free reign to do the projects he wants to do.

Not to throw shade at you, but this is pretty ignorant of Spielberg's style. You can easily point to what makes his films great formally speaking. His patented "invisible oners," his fluid camera movements, the way his compositions direct mood, tone, terror, wonder, etc. Spielberg indeed has a style. It's just less rigid than other aesthetically recognizable filmmakers.

I think it would be great to see and might even be a nice send-off for Steven as I think he's probably getting close to being done with filmmaking and just wants to enjoy the rest of his life. I could be wrong on that. Maybe he plans on filmmaking for the rest of his ife, but if the latter turns out to be more accurate, him going out with one last Jurassic Park movie made by him would be the way I'd love to see him end his career on if he chose something like that.

Speilberg has got lazy ever since Saving Private Ryan. Quite frankly, I don't think he cares anymore. As the executive producer of the JP franchise, he did nothing but allow it to get run into the ground twice-JP3 and with Dominion-and did the same thing as the executive producer for the Michael Bay Transformers franchise. Why should I think he would care now? And keep something in mind: He doesn't believe in ret-conning things out of existance. So even IF he did came back, how would he possibly fix the mess the last two movies made?

Great video idea and why Steven Spielberg should make a new Jurassic Park movie and I pretty much agree everything you said in this video and if Steven Spielberg makes a new Jurassic Park movie then it would be just as good as the first Jurassic Park movie from 1993 and The Lost World Jurassic Park in my opinion because after the long hiatus from the Jurassic Franchise after Jurassic Park 1993 and The Lost World Jurassic Park, I agree that Steven Spielberg should do a new Jurassic Park movie just for Jurassic Park’s 30th Anniversary so we could enjoy it a lot more than Jurassic World Dominion in my opinion and bring more screen time for the dinosaurs and Life Would Find A Way with this Partner. Quite literally, the "target" audience in the entire "flee" circus! (just to quote their grandfather) Same person, even after KNOWING the 2 deadliest species to walk the earth(again) were prowling down on him & Lex, still wasn't enough incentive to utilize lethal force on an escaped the raptor? The same raptor that instigated the entire visitation on the island? An island that despite being hit by a hurricane & were told "all the dinosaurs were girls." What you fail to grasp is that in every movie there are many directors and the producers have the power. Steven Spielberg alone did not direct Jurassic Park or Indiana Jones, same as George Lucas did not alone direct Star Wars. In fact, in the first Star Wars movie he had very little power and got stopped by many of the producers and co directors. Thank god for that, or else the whole thing would have ended up in a 4 hour muppet show. Also the real magic happened later in the editing room where he got help from his wife and many other people. Making movie is like going to a war, with a huge dose of luck mixed with blood sweat and tears. They just write "Steven Spielberg" on a poster to make people go see the movie, even though he maybe had 5 % of directing the movie. So even if Steven Spielgerg were to "direct" a new Jurassic Park movie I doubt it would be good. He is older now, lost the spark, and the franchise is ruined. There is nothing more to explore. Also showing everything and explaining everything is what ruins a movie. The first one was movie magic and perfect. We don't need more. Time to move on. Remakes and sequels are ruining Hollywood now.

I've definitely thought about this a lot. It helps to break down Spielberg's cinematic style. Something about the filmography and special effects of the first two Jurassic films made the world feel very real. I couldn't have said it better myself when you said it can be hard to articulate these feelings, but Spielberg has a very particular visual style that feels very grounded in reality. Watching the first two Jurassic movies feels like watching the events unfold in real life. Something else Spielberg does incredibly well is characterization. His characters talk and act very realistically. They stutter, make subtle jokes, and talk over each other. Compare this to the Jurassic World movies where Chris Pratt's character is slipping out superhero one-liners and making out with his costar in the middle of a deadly pterosaur massacre. The Jurassic World movies are very fluffy with superhero action, whereas Spielberg's characters and situations were very realistic. I think that is a big part of what made the first two Jurassic films so memorable. They were gritty and real.

I'd kill for a high budget mini series that covers the first book again, but is as faithful as possible. The cherry on top for me would be to also make it more horror based. Yes Steven Spielberg is the director that made so many iconic movies successful because of his passion and care for his projects,if he ever returns to direct a Jurassic park sequel it has to be a movie after Jurassic park 3,or a what if series like what if dennis nedry came back to turn the power back on and years later Jurassic park became successful,or if Jurassic park 4 happened and maybe a movie on isla sorna return to the lost world, although it is up to Steven Spielberg himself if he makes a decision to direct a future Jurassic sequel ,if he ever did return to the directors chair they need to bring back all of the characters in the lost world like roland, nick or ians daughter all grown up,but only time will tell when he decides to return lets hope he can brack the majic and wonders of the first two movies.

They'd never build animatronics again. The cgi would look worse guaranteed. They'd need to delete the whole World trilogy from the storyline in order to have any tension (and so the progtag doesn't just raise his hand like a fake lion taming jackass and magically stop the dinos from attacking) which they'd never do. 90s Spielberg isn't present Spielberg. His name isn't as synonymous with quality as it was. Man, the World trilogy has really made me like Chris Pratt and Jurassic Park alot less. I miss the days where III was the worst sequel. The only thing I want from this franchise is an official survival horror game since they keep killing fans projects and since Capcom continues to troll Dino Crisis fans with medicore Left 4 Dead multiplayer Dinosaur shooters.

I know it's probably just PR fluff to sound nice but I remember reading that Spielberg was happy with how Mangold handled Indy 5 saying "I though only I could direct these". At least for me, it's not a dealbreaker if a franchise is being handled by newcomers trying to emulate the magic of the first film because the original director returning isn't a guarantee for success (Crystal Skull). Its' more corporate getting in the way and trying to make the project safer and more marketable that ends up killing it most of the time. I'd love one of these legacy sequels to actually feel like it's from the same era with similar cinematography and effects to trick your mind into thinking the film is older than it is.

Even though I’d love to see him comeback I think we just need to first plan out what the future of the franchise should go for and what direction they want to go with and stick with, but honestly Id love to see directors like Neill Blomkamp known for directing district 9, Elysium, & Chappie to come work on a Jurassic world film, I’d also like to see Lee Cronin take a spin at the Jurassic World franchise he’s known for directed Evil Dead: Rise which in my opinion is a great horror film and love to see Lee Cronin do a horror themed film in the Jurassic universe, I’d also like to see other directors like James DeMonaco known for directed The Purge 1 to 3 direct a Jurassic world spin-off, John Krasinski known for directing A Quiet Place part 1 & 2 to direct a Jurassic Universe spin-off, Bryce Dallas Howard as well directing another Jurassic spin-off, I’d think the best way to do these is just have them all do spin-off, a anthology series that would lead up to a Jurassic World 4 or another title like Jurassic Planet or Jurassic Kingdom, or Jurassic Universe anything, I just think we need to get out of the theme and feeling of fantastic animals in our world living and breathing and in peace for a more horror route or play with different themes, remember these dinosaurs aren’t the real thing, they are technically Genetically Engineered theme park monsters.

Spielberg is my favorite director, with George Lucas being my second at this point. The first two JP films are still the best, and the franchise hasn’t been the same without him in the director’s seat.

A *FANTASTIC* and _POIGNANT_ (in a positive way) video! I hope it (somehow!) finds its way to Spielberg and makes him consider what you say seriously - the things you say, you say on behalf of The Lost World fans everywhere.

It will never happen, but one can dream. The simple fact is, nobody can step into Spielberg's shoes in this franchise and make it feel like a true worthy follow up. I like most of the sequels but there is no denying the absence of Spielberg's hand is REALLY obvious after TLW. Spielberg is able to elevate a maybe not great script through his craft alone. He's fantastic with actors and can make them feel more human and real in ways lesser directors can't. I fully believe that, for example, if Spielberg directed Jurassic World - same script down to the letter with no changes - it would be a better film. His dynamism behind the camera would elevate the story and his way with actors would produce more human performances.

No. He shouldn't. Hollywood doesn't work like you think it does anymore. The director isn't a "director" in this day and age. Movies are made by committees, focus groups and PR-analysts! That's why everything is so bland and boring nowadays. Spielberg wouldn't have any creative freedom, he would just be a "brand" and nothing else. If you think otherwise, I have a bridge to sell.

I think Spielberg returning is the only way to save the brand. He needs to make a proper Jurassic movie that ignores the Jurassic World movies. No Owen, no puppy dog Raptor, no woke nonsense.

Honestly, I don't think he can make a new Jurassic that would have the impact of the first movie. First there's the fact that the franchise itself has long since moved away from the ingredients that made the first movie, so that's a big factor that would prove an obstacle. But the more important fact is that Spielberg changed a lot as a person and as a director since the first movie, and considering how many people DO NOT think World measures up to the first film already, I don't personally believe his return would actually do anything to change people's perception of the fanchise.

I want Spielberg to come back to the franchise. But of course, a few things with that. Is it profitable? What else can he do with the franchise? Does he even want to? Does he still think of JP2 when thinking about the franchise? Who knows. I also know he's not getting any younger. The older you get; you start realizing you have less time in your life for other things you wanna do. Yeah... pretty obvious, but ever since becoming an adult... I feel like I've aged more than a few decades (since turning 18) when I'm not much older than the Pokémon Franchise. (I refuse to give my real age, sue me.)

There's so much a director like him could do. Hell, they could retcon all the terrible world 2 and 3 stuff. Do a shortly after JP1 story. The sky is the limit.

You havent really said anything we dont already know. Spielberg makes Spielberg movies. Yes we know. The other aspect is most of his movies were working out his inner issues with his dad etc. So...if hes healed from that, then he has less to say

eh, weird move to randomly call out a youtuber for sth false like that, but still, come on, just take it on the chin as weak joke of sorts. i'm sure they didnt wanna annoy or blame you for it. free publicity? sure, but that implies you're the guy with the bigger audience. some other people would relish in this

When you make something intense and scary an realistic-looking you're going to win every time. When you make it bright and colorful and take the horror out of it you realize that it's made just for the kids to sell toys..... I need something more along the lines of the actual book to get back into this..

If it’s gonna happen with a Spielberg directed movie, it’s gotta be a solo work. I recently marathoned all of his films and found that any time he’s tried to work with another director or writer, the film gets a little muddled. I HATED A.I.: Artificial Intelligence which was originally going to be a collaboration with Stanley Kubrick before his death, and a lot of his fingerprints are in it. Spielberg has gotta stick to his own guns and have very little studio interference at that.

He would make a very good film and because he worked with Michael Crichton he would have a very solid tone for what Jurassic Park film would act and feel like. Like seriously who better to write a Jurassic Park film then the person who wrote the first two movies.
