I break these out when doing lighting, when there's a lot of 18ga solid and use Ideal insure push terminals. I use no pressure on the clamp, pinch the wire with my fingers and use the clamp as a stop for my fingers. Sure I can take a lot of time not scoring the wire with regular strippers then not breaking them off in a wire nut, but doubling my speed, reliability and profit is well worth it. Literally 2 to 1 reliable installs, I love these things, nice video man.

whoever invented this stripper deserve a real stripper! ;D

I really like this tool. The adjustable length arm and head are made of metal and not plastic! I use this tool with 14/2 romex a lot too!

I just got one and it was so cool , stripped the 16guage wire with perfection . I suck at doing it manually so it’s nice

I just got mine and used it once , it sure makes it easy . I hate stripping wire with the common tools I always damage the wire on the first tries. I wish I had this a while back when I did the wires for my fish finder transducer

I bought this tool specifically for wiring a whole ton of HEPA filters and junction boxes. Other than production work like that I wouldn’t use these either. They worked out really well for that though

These are great for doing lots of wire to the same length, romex, speaker wire, etc. For confined spaces a pistol-grip stripper is probably better.

Great video for this tool. A lot of your frames are cut off on the top--it would be great if the action was centered on the video but instead the actual action was cut off at the top--this would have been an otherwise perfect video
@Herendill Жыл бұрын
I've got mine and it feels like there is something wrong with it. I don't know if that's intended but, it works like two step pool, two action. The metal bits in between grabbing claws is like catching itself half way and I can see a mark on metal piece where it is scratched. I was thinking maybe it will even itself over time and will become smooth, I don't know, What do you think? I can see same mark on the video when tool is in open position, there is a mark on that piece of metal, is that normal? Mine seems just like not perfect match

I'm watching this video for the same reason. Very disappointing for a high end brand. Would rather not have cutters than having the fouling

Can these be used to strip three core 1.5 and 2.5 square milimetre round cables ?

They can be used to strip romex wire but I’m not sure about 3 core wire.

@@swanston5986 can they strip double insulation two core or three core cables?
@swanston59862 жыл бұрын
@@amitghosh6966 it can strip 1.5 and 2.5mm tps flat. The diameter of a 16mm² cable is the absolute maximum. Really fills the jaws. For larger cables I use a jokari cable stripper for the out sheathe. If you wanted something for smaller cables the knipex ergostrip may be better suited for your needs. I use mine at work mostly for 0.75mm² 2-4 core round cables

What's difference between Klein and Irwin automatic strippers?
@TheToolReviewChannel2 жыл бұрын
The Irwin had a bit more plastic and also has wire crimpers. The Klein just strips and cuts the wire unlike the Irwin. The Irwin can cut, crimp and strip wire.
@glendooer6211 Жыл бұрын
@@TheToolReviewChannel The crimp works better than the clamp tools but pays to put a drop of solder where the wire poke out of a fitting and use heat shrink. All strippers work the same.

Hey man, great stuff. Maybe try to focus on not saying “go ahead” “right there” or “you can see” so much in some of your vids. It might just be me, but it is super distracting.

Thanks and I total agree with you. I’ve been trying not to say the same stuff in my newer videos but it’s just hard to break a old habit.
