I can quantify that warning- I had the bright idea of using four instances of Pipa in the new four-channel version of riffer to invent new and dangerous four-part harmonies, and I can confirm that it was only JUST possible in AUM on my 2019 7th gen iPad. The five apps consumed on average about 75- 80% of the DSP, and it was not possible to add anything further and yet avoid crackling. I settled for two voices and a lot of recording...

You make fantastic plugins. I am kind of fed up with emulation plugs which I own tons of and are ultimately not really better than the real analog gears in the well equipped studios. But your plugins are unique enough to be usable even in the best analog geared studios because the tonality of your plugins is very unique and they are like hardware instruments or effects. Bottom line is I love your stuff!

this looks like quite exciting technology! but there's two things that are holding me personally off from getting it: - currently the available vowels are in the /a~o/ range. i hope this will get expanded to at least a basic five vowel system of /i~e~a~o~u/ - you haven't mentioned anything about tuning systems in the video, but i hope it will accept .tun files at some point

This might be a dumb question, but does this only "synthesise" vocals based on pre-existing samples or can I use my own samples or dare I say it, can this be sung through as a vocal effect ?
@robst2474 жыл бұрын
As she explains in the beginning, Pipa's synthesis engine uses wavetables extracted from digitally recorded voices of a male and a female who work at Klevgrand. Wavetables are very short samples. Typically, they contain only one, or just a few cycles, of the recorded waveform. You cannot use your own samples or an audio input in Pipa. It only uses the built-in wavetables. The best example of a softsynth (VSTi) in which you CAN load your own wavetables is the amazing Xfer Records Serum: xferrecords.com/products/serum Here are some useful links on wavetable synthesis: kzbin.info/www/bejne/laiUmWesoNOZpdk www.musictech.net/guides/essential-guide/science-wavetable-synthesis/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wavetable_synthesis

Why don't the GUI sliders and knobs move to follow the modulation controllers?
@klevgrand4 жыл бұрын
Hi! The vowel slider sets the initial vowel and the modulation controllers, envelopes and lfos modulate from that point. If the slider would move with the modulation, it would end up very hard to grip it while it’s modulating.
@Hermiel4 жыл бұрын
@@klevgrand Ah, I see. What if the regular controls stayed static but you had transparent "ghost" controls that moved with modulation? Just a thought. It's nice to have a visual indication of how things are configured. Maybe an option to turn ghosts on and off.
