KLIA shooting: We didn’t engage in shoot-out due to public safety, says Selangor top cop

The police did not immediately engage the suspect during the shooting at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 (KLIA 1) due to concerns for public safety.
Selangor Police Chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan clarified this on Monday (April 15), addressing questions about why the police had not confronted the suspect right away.

This show the lack of experience and incompetent abilities during such emergencies What do u mean by not engaging bcoz dont want to harm other but to bring out the perpetrator Luckily this one is a assassination job with designated target, but what if terrorists are involved? Wait until their bullet finished so they come out unarmed or wait until they wipe out everyone in the airport so police wont jeopardize the safety of orang awam ? Its not 1st time or 1st day this kind of things happened in tempat awam, even though we didnt need to have scanner at every entrance of coz bawa mercun into the airport pun xsalah, as long as u r not flaying with it.... But where are the police patrol that 1st response team ? What skuter bike or segway what not are bs, we call it 花大饼，typical answers for media Why our air port doesnt like other countries that have group of 2~3 armed police patrolling or even auxiliaries police that firearms capable take the role ? SG Aus HK Macau , i passed by them every few minutes, they constantly patrolling the area with "enough" men coverage for a location the hall the terminal in case of any event But in malaysia, how often do u see this patrolling men aside from staying in counters, and armed with batons.... maybe terrorists comes in with butter knife

@@lukutsouthwell1696 cos we are not singapore, no armed security and no airport rapid response. If there is also SOP is too tight and the usual response is not to engage a person with firearm. so anything can happen actually

To be the BEST among the BEST Malaysia MUST emulate the BEST SOP’s of other countries when it comes to aspects of airport security. We shouldn’t be ‘ashamed’ or ‘shy’ to learn from other countries. @@lukutsouthwell1696 unfortunately law enforcement in malaysia is like 3rd world country... they dont really know how to handle immediate incidences and everything they do must wait for approval from upper. As for security measures, with all the anti corruption thing that is going on, it is very difficult to do anything because the decisions need to go through too many filters and many levels just looking at the kickback to receive

kalau singapore lain, penjenayah tu memang takkan lepas pintu keluar sebab akan diambush oleh auxiliary police, airport police, ICA, airport K9, ERT, STAR etc semuanya ada senjata api n ada sop untuk engage orang bersenjata api

Scooters are NOT the answer to such incidents: how do you hold a firearm while using o the scooter: it’s the mindset of the enforcement officers that counts - scooters can collide with innocent people..

kalau di sg auxiliary police, airport police, ert, airport k9 dah datang ambush suspek semuanya bersenjata api, suspek langsung tak boleh lepas pintu keluar.. sebab SOP mereka adalah disarm and arrest

no komen part Polis aka PDRM ni. Tapi part Polis Bantuan KLIA selama ni eksen kata kami ada UTK sendiri, ada SWAT sendiri kami ada persenjataan canggih, training kami training komando sekian sekian lah. mane dah kelentong korang tuh?
