A very good friend of mine bid on this locomotive and missed it by 2 thousand dollars. He wanted to build a rail line around his wheat ranch in Goldendale, Wash. and run it there. The engine ended up at Point defiance in Tacoma and I don't know where it is now.

Shay #7? I think it’s still there, last I heard it was shut down for boiler/piping issues but I have been out of that loop for years.

I am related to the Wellenbrock's in Glenwood Mr.Tyndall.Every summer in the 1960's I got to spend a week or so there visiting. One time my grandfather, George Wellenbrock, and I encountered the train across the road where it crossed south of Glenwood. He blamed it on someone named Gordon.Gary Darnell.

I was up in the Klickitat area last weekend. Took a stroll through the old mill site and found that the KL&L tracks are still in place under the dirt road at the log dump at 12:20 in this video. The locomotive shop is also still standing, with rails still in the floor.
