The review is what I'm experiencing - spendy, but worth it. Just got one yesterday. Walked into the shop and they had a closeout. (Last one, green scheme screamin deal, which is still expensive for a helmet) I've had good road helmets and so-so dirt helmets, but this Klim thing takes the cake for fit and comfort. For some reason, it also feels unreal safe and, so far, the Fidlock is pretty damned awesome! Makes D-rings seem like they are from the horse and buggy era.

I like my helmet and I got it with the Sena U system installed. I love the helmet but my only complaint about it would be the low volume of the SEna. I’ve had the helmet for over a year and I’ve never heard people talk about the fact carbon fiber helmets do not help with sound. The ARAI XD Is good and does not inhibit your installed Bluetooth, nor does the Shoei.

Hi and thanks for watching. I agree about the sound- I have a Cardo Packtalk headset now and the sound is not great when riding, The other issue is I wear ear plugs too. I am getting my UltimateEars bluetooth pro ear buds remade into wired so I can plug them into the Cardo- that way I get the best of both worlds- great sound and ear plugs.

Hi! Thanks for the great review video 😊 Quick question: can you confirm that you can wear goggles WITH the visor installed? You could with an older version but it would rely on (or create) a gap where the strap exits to the rear. I’m assuming the visor would not fully close… maybe!

Thanks for a thorough consumer oriented review. The lightness, ventilation and auto darkening visor are the big selling points that make me want to spend three times as much for the Klim Krios Pro. BTW - Klim employees pronounce it "climb", so I guess that's the correct pronunciation.

Ive had mine about 18 months and it's been a great investment, agree with most of what you've said, but the lining I think is awful, so fiddly and naff. And as a doctor I'd of thought you'd have mentioned that its not the sort that is easily removed in an accident, say like in my Bell helmet, the cheek pieces are magnetic and easily pop off too allow easy helmet removal by a medium etc. Also one of the real plus points, especially from a noise point of view, is the accompanying Sena 10U intercom which fits into the back of the helmet leaving some very slimline buttons on the outside of the helmet. This helps reduce wind noise massively, Ive had lids with intercoms on the outside and they create so much wind noise. Nice review, it's certainly a cool helmet in the summer, for a few reasons, certainly the best adv helmet going for me
@advnoobie6061
@advnoobie6061 2 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching commenting. Personally I think features for easy removal in an accident are potentially good but not essential. There are easy and safe ways to remove any helmet if needed and so with the right technique, it doesn’t really matter what features the helmet has. So much of that is context specific as well. I’m getting the channel established then want to start covering some medical subject, helmet removal being one of them. Thanks again.

When I have this thing on it's top edge is at my eyebrows with the XL! Tried the Medium, too small, but the shell was smaller and the top edge not on my eyebrow. So I think it depends on your head shape and size. This guys weird head shape has the top edge considerable ABOVE his eyebrow. So which shell size and which head shape you have will make a huge difference! I have yet to try the Large. Wonder if it is an in-between shell size or a Medium or XL shell size?

The Krios pro is brilliant off road and I love the field of view on road and off. It's super light and I can forgive a lot of things just on that. It's also cool and has good ventilation. The Neotech is much heavier but doesn't really feel it. It has a smaller shell so feels less bulky in terms of volume. It's quieter and the flip up face is great. The highly engineered closed cell foam in motorcycle helmets is good for 2 years, or maybe 3 before it becomes so hard that the energy absorption is essentially useless. You can't tell that unless you crash in it. So helmet prices have gone totally insane UNLESS they provide foam liner renewal services. All the decent helmets say in the fine print that the life expectancy is not over 3 years. And how long the helmet sat on the store shelves matters too. Buyer beware. No matter how fancy or expensive the helmet is, the same rules apply. Also, NEVER keep your gloves in the helmet. Any hydrocarbon fumes (like if you gas up with gloves on) are an early death to the foam. It will harden way faster if exposed to fuel vapors. I received this information from a seminar put on by Arai for our Ducati club. If this helmet doesn't use poly foam that is a potential game changer in the life expectancy of an expensive helmet. Very curious why no Snell. It also seems to have no first responder emergency cheek pad pull straps. I'm fairly sure those will eventually be mandatory.

This is my Humble opinion about the Krios Pro, the quality of the materials are not good, examples, first time I took my visor out and put it back in, I never had a complete airtight on the Helmet anymore, there always air coming through my visor, I notice this specially in cold weather. Another very much fragile component of the helmet is the head front tail, by walking I hit slowly the tail against a table and it was broken, it's not even fibre, it's just plastic. worst than that is that are no spare painted parts for it. The air vent control on the chin doesn't feel good on controlling the amount of air coming to your mouth. The helmet is very light and comfortable but has this disadvantages in my humble opinion after 2 years of use. I had a Schuberth previously and there is a big difference on these materials. If I would buy it again? Would have to check what is carbon fibre brand new on the market to take a decision.

I think the product is good and it’s my favourite helmet in many years. Super light, great field of view and quieter than expected, especially with ear plugs. I’ve done about 7000 miles on and off road with it and it’s still my go to helmet. But it’s all subjective and down to our own personal opinions. The end product works for me.

Helmets are very personal and the key is to find one that fits your head well.
