Another thought just came to mind that everybody needs to be reminded of.. the Klipsch forte V3 or the V4 the newer model.. will fill a very large room with plenty of bass and presents.. the room I am using is 45 ft long by 25 ft wide width 12 ft ceilings.. it has become a concert hall sound in that room beautiful and very comforting

OMG!! Thank You Zeos!!! I've had the Fortes for two weeks today. My room is the same width as yours. You just affirmed everything I'm experiencing. I auditioned the Heresy's and HATED them. They sounded like they were coming from a box on the floor......They were! AND as you did, you would obviously need stands and a sub. As for the Fortes' height, again, you were experiencing what I am. I was just considering getting a pair of sound addicted vibe bosses to raise them up a tad to sound as good on the couch as they do when I sit on the floor. From the floor - amazing! I will also say, when I started using these, I was concerned about the intensity of the tweeter. My dealer (Kevin at Upscale Audio) says these need breaking in and the tweeter will soften. He says 500 hours. I've probably played them 40 hours so far and there is definitely a bit of mellowing of the tweeter. It might be the difference from the couch to the floor. I'm closer to the mid range on the floor. Hmmmm...

I got my Forte IV's last week, fully agree with this review. The detail that is present at low volumes is amazing. Fit and finish is top notch. I use them for 2ch music, got rid of my subs and place them about 5 inches from the wall for the level of bass that works for me for ALL types of music. Very happy.

The new jubilee is like 108db efficient or something. With my rf7iii I use the parasound a31 with 250watts 8ohm and like 400wpc into 6ohm. Having it at -30 is very very loud and I have -15 at my cutoff safety volume which is very very loud easily over 100db. They recommend lots of good clean power for very good important reasons. If you like to play your speakers loud having the head room makes a big difference on a lot of things. Also the rf7iiis drop down dramatically in ohms something to like 1ohm as you turn them up so it’s good to have a amp capable of being stable down about 2 ohms. They know what they’re doing over there at klipsch and recommend alot of power for good reasons trust me. They’re efficient if you want they will very easily be driven with a couple watts. Both have the benefits. And they don’t recommend it for no reason.

Would these be a considerable upgrade vs my cheapy HS8 studio monitors? Dreaming of Forte or Cornwall… maybe someday. But, wanna make sure it’ll actually be a big improvement first. Would suck if the improvement was minimal (or worse, worse than the HS8), esp after spending $6-7k (after an amp too).

This whole review in a nutshell: forte IV is better than the forte 3 and they work best in a small room up against the wall. The heresy 4 are better out in the room but overall the sound of the forte 4 are worth the extra $2k.

Good review there Z! I AB demoed them with the KLH Model 5: Close race!! KLH may prove to be more friendly with room placement, but those Forte's trump all over the Model 5 and sound SO much larger than life. They image very well, and I got a center image locked on, BUT to my surprise the Model 5's image Better: a higher vertical disbursement, wider and with some songs even Depth, pretty cool. Still, I just don't know which to go for. My biggest concern is wall placement. Z, have you experimented with the placement of the Forte IV, if so what have you determined to be nice placement to the front wall?

In the first Heavy Metal concert i attended (Arch Enemy, Angela Gossow), the speakers had a similar looking horn. I remember vividly because I immediately regretted picking my spot which was directly in front of the speakers. I was so innocent then. How do they correspond to the higher end DSP corrected Swans in that room?
@daveycrockett5738
@daveycrockett5738 2 жыл бұрын
The fortes would crush them. When listening to music yoj don’t really want room correction or dsp as it kinda messes with the way the artists wanted it to sound and just kinda compresses the sound when you just want it to flow freely. Unless your messing with just the low end/ bass I always try to steer away from that.

I love Klipsch. There is no reason to pay that premium for a name, though. You could have like, any number of Tekton speakers for 5 grand. I am sure those Forte's sound great, but they wont sound better than Tektons of the same price. Klipsch needs to do something about their heritage line pricing.

I had JBL 2x15+horn PA speakers I used in my rehearsal place for our band. The way you speak of horns separating from the mid/bass drivers seems terribly familiar from that perspective. They sounded great up to (not loud altough I assumed they would play loud) medium to medium-high but went freaky at higher volumes. Biamping fixed it somewhat but eventually I sold them (they were 5x cheaper than Forte's though).

You need to try these with a flea powered amp like the Decware Super Zen Triode 2 watt amp. Then you will hear how good these things actually sound. You will get to concert volumes with just those 2 watts with these super efficient speakers. I was a doubter until i had super efficient horn speakers and a low watt tube amp. I was using a George Wright 3,5 SET amp but he passed away and they are no longer in production. Still have both the horn speakers and the Wright SET mono blocks, but had to move, and have them in storage for the time being. Best sound i ever had. Good tube preamp with it also made it even better instead of a passive volume knob, which i originally tried.

This would've been a great pairing with those 8wpc tube amps you have downstairs. These speakers were built for low power tubes. But I still don't like the boxy 1974 grandpa wood veneer look for $5000. I owned the kg4's the look the same but the size of the heresy's and they had 2 8" with a single horn and a 12" passive on the back. I fed them 50w of hardon Harmon power and they seriously blew you out of the room. The bass was impressive to say the least. But clear at levels that would force the average listener to leave the room they were 40 yrs old probably the best speakers ive ever owned

I'm debating on on the Forte IV, or the Cornwall IV to be used in my 14'X 16' TV/stereo room to replace my thirty year old Cerwin Vega speakers with that sticky faux wood vinyl that should be used for shelf liner in the kitchen and they're driven by a thirty year old pathetic Pioneer SX-201 It was all I could afford after the divorce.
