A heavy bike and worn dual sport tires are a bad combination in the mud.

I like the wet trails myself. The only dislike I have is when those burly swamp logs hidden under the mud at a weird angle decide to make you speak in tongues.

I like the mud on my mountain bike but as I get older, less on the dual sport bike. Hurts more when I go down these days.

Stand up!! Why is he sitting putting his feet down?? I agree, I'm surprised he went that far.

Repeat after me, It's not a dirt bike. It's the best ADV bike ever made, but it's not a dirt bike.

@@robertpalermo5282 ???? Nobody stands the whole time, you stand on technical terrain not a road like this.... guy shouldn't have been riding on the center ridge with such a heavy bike, probably wanted to stay out of the puddles so he didn't get so wet.

Ouch! A good reason for soft side bags. Leg got caught under the right pannier, comes up holding that knee! Hope he was ok. Sloppy trail!

Stop trying to race. Just slow down and enjoy the ride.

who was racing though? nobody.

No one was racing. It's literally a group trail ride.

Yeah.....To fast to enjoy the trail....makes the ride more technical than I like.......It's just the way group rides seem to work on the street or the trail.....I go solo or better yet with one extra rider, just in case

That accident would be hard to avoid without a more upright on the pegs riding posture, which is what that trail demands. It was a messy trail for rider #1. By the time #8+ got there it was a total mess not suitable for the novice or casual rider.

Hahaha race? You must ride like your racing a turtle 🐢

The stock tires are not good for this sort of trail riding. I am changing mine out in a few days on my 2022 adventure model.

I’m not sure how he managed to make it that far considering he was sitting down the whole way!

how would standing help? those before him made that as slippery as ice....on top of it it's a ditch....on top it's 200kg bike
@bradywilliams29512 жыл бұрын
Standing up separates you from the bike, allowing the bike to rotate and jump around under you while your center mass is above the bike in a balanced, and stationary position. It lets you control the bike more than the bike controls you.
@Amin_2k2 жыл бұрын
@@ivok9846 More stability. Have you never droven a bike on a dirt path? You automatically stand up a bit because you feel more stable that way. You dont even have to think about it

@@Amin_2k & Brady Williams: loosing front end in the mud has nothing to do with center of gravity or "naturality of standing position"(which doesn't exist unless you ride motocross bike most of the time). he just slipped off that crest and any steering was gone, balance too (no steering, no balance). dunno if you two ever lost front end on a bike? it's usually unrecoverable. i have bike bigger than 650 and mud is my worst enemy. with all that said, perhaps he would of had better luck if he stick to the rut, even though it's filled with water. like i said those bikes going before him made path he took even more slippery... if they didn't, it would be best path to take... so you can't really blame the guy too much.

If you have to ask that question your not a trail rider. And if you are then you don't know how to truly ride. The reality is when ever your on dirt you should be standing.
