Your beginning sequence for the video is an instant classic! Too funny.

I sold my yz250fx, kdx200, and crf450x and went back to an EFI KLX250. Its just more enjoyable to ride some single track, into town, power lines, backroads instead of limited to just single track. The elevation you guys ride sap 30% of its power also. Sprockets, tires, suspension adjustment just like you do to every other offroad bike and its plenty capable with an experienced rider.

Those are great looking single track trails to ride on!

I've been doing some mountain riding with my klx250 while I rebuild my cr125. I'm 5'6" and 125 lbs so it's definitely a chore to ride, especially in sketchy terrain.

Haha, I think “a chore to ride” sums it up pretty well.

I've yet to ride a dual sport bike that is great on the road AND trail. So we all need a few bikes, you know, to bridge all the gaps

It looks like a lovely track. I wonder how much it would take to make the KLX more suitable for trail riding, like working on the forks and changing the pegs.
@callinyourblufftoday96703 жыл бұрын
I ride my klx on trails mainly, stock pegs arnt that bad, but can be replaced with wider. ive had stock pegs for 8 months, they are fine for me. honestly could ride this on trails and wheelie 1st and 2nd on complete stock. the suspension is fully adjustable, set mine up super stiff. But dropping to a 13T front sprocket, doing a free intake mod, and opening the exhaust makes it respectable on trails. I work harder lol, but can keep up with the CRF and YZ i ride with

doable yes! but is it fun ? would I have fun riding this thing or would I grave something more powerful ?
@PlushEnduro4 жыл бұрын
Man, that is an impossible question to answer. What I CAN say is, that I would personally rather have something lighter and more oriented to "trail riding." It reaslly comes down to what you want to do... if you are more interested in dual-sport type of stuff, maybe this is a better choice. If you want to ride trails similar to what's in this video, there are much better choices out there. Hit me up with any more questions.

@@PlushEnduro wow thanks a lot ! Looking to buy my first bike ever next summer. I do wanna ride on the street a lot but I would definitly like to hit soft trails every now and then. I think this is the bike for me ! I thought maybe the wr250r but its to expensive .. anyways thanks a lot.

literally evrything if you’re putting down a lot of road miles this is a great bike as it doesn’t have a ton of maintenance that you need to accomplish and it’s much cheaper to own from a maintenance standpoint. The WR is a great bike that can absolutely plow through singletrack all day as well as act as a dual-sport bike, but it’s cost of ownership is a bit higher I think as you’d have to make sure valves get checked, shimmed, eventually replaced maybe. The KLX is basically worry free, but less capable. 🤷♂️ again it just comes down to your goals. First bike is hard, because you never know where this dirt bike obsession will take you.

I ride and have been riding a 4 stroke 250(at sea level-ish) since I started off-roading. My GPX is more enduro than dual-sport and it gets-it in our tight NE trails. But I'm feeling like I'm ready for a big-boy bike, 300cc 2 stroke (don't tell Will I said that 😉)

I hate Japanese manufactures for not making 250 cc dual sport weigh under 250 lbs wet! If they do it will sell out quick even around $7k msrp! Hell yes I'd replace my 2017 xt250. too bad I can't afford ktm 350 excf and at 37" seat height is not ridable for a shorter guy like myself.
