Nice! I've been in Hong Kong for 4 days and not heard any kickdown from any buses at all. I wonder if this driver is using the gearhold buttons.

Welcome to Hong Kong. This B9TL only equipped with DNR option, not easy to meet driver know how to " Kickdown" So how's your journey ? Left Hong Kong yet?

Hi, thanks! I stayed for 4 days, back in London now. Hoped to bring back some videos for my "kickdown only" channel but no such luck! I guess the drivers are conscious of fuel consumption and passenger comfort, which is a good thing. In London it's a bit more common for drivers to put their foot down, but not always! Hopefully I will return to ride the 88R soon. Nice vids on your channel by the way, keep up the good work!

​@@KickdownLondon I’ve been watching your channel since 2010, impressive Kickdownsssss from Enviro400 and Olympian, honestly felt so surprise get comments from you. (lol) I think nearly 85% Bus captains in Hong Kong don’t care about kickdown(s), some of them are fast but not keen on making different from gear changing mode. And now there have 1500+ Enviro500 MMC(sss) in HK, or Volvo B9TL(sss), both of them are equipped with ZF Ecolife or Voith Sensotop, so no any expectation in new buses. Let me know when you’re visiting again, I hope I can create some kickdowns for you to bring back London.

@@MB10295 Hi there, Thank you so much for your comments! I'm a big fan of the ZF Ecomat box in the E400s and Olympians though also got a big soft spot for the E400 with the Ecolife box. Sadly I won't get to drive the latter so much any more as it's all going Hybrid where I am. I am sitting on a plane at Heathrow on my way to Hong Kong to experience some Citybus Olympians for the first and likely last time. I'll be there for a few days and would like to take you up on your kind offer!

@@KickdownLondon Me too, the hydraulic sound of ZF (Known as "Loud ZF") is my favourite!! Prefer Ecomat rather than Ecolife, although Ecolife is more smooth and powerful (average ) Yes indeed , now UK seems got a lot of hybrid and those are .... seems boring?
