It makes me sad how many comments here are slamming them because of their comments on gun laws. I've been intensely interested in Columbine for many years, but I keep my love of KMFDM separate, because for a long time they were blamed for something that they were never involved in. Their music may appeal to a certain audience but they are not responsible for the actions of their fans. It's separation of art and artist - they're allowed to have opinions that may seem contrary to their music.

Even after you pay for it.. You need to put it on your permit.. Then go back and pick it up even though you have a permit and spent a lot of money on it.. They run a nix at the store and theyNeed to see a permit... You cannot buy a handgun with just a licence.. Bullshit

it’s not just you. i also only heard of kmfdm from columbine after reading one of the shooters journals and seeing the kmfdm reference + also reading their wikipedia page that references that they were avid kmfdm fans. i don’t think it’s bad tbh, just don’t do the stuff that the 2 shooters did, you can still enjoy their music. but yeah, kmfdm’s music is really good and ngl the 2 shooters had good taste in music

The exact same thing happened to me. I knew I couldn’t have been the only one. I just want more kindness in the world. I burst out laughing at the part where sascha said “I should not own guns” because a part of me can relate to this, so I don’t either. Don’t need em, don’t want em. No thank u lol. Good on them for coming out against gun violence because we don’t need another Eric Harris

"All the gun store needed was your drivers license and a two week wait". When you provide your drivers license you are also required to fill out federal paperwork and undergo a background check. That has been federal law for over 20 years.

go to a gun show with a a license and walk out with a machine gun the gun show loophole
@ShortGuy17928 жыл бұрын
Rather than going into detail about the NFA and the Hughes Amendment I'll just say machine guns require a lot of red tape with the ATF to obtain so no, you can NOT get a machine gun at a gun show without a background check. Secondly if a federally licensed dealer sets up shop at a gun show they are still required to fill out paperwork and do a background check just as if they were in their store so Sascha's remarks about just showing your drivers license is still wrong. The "loophole" you are referring to is the ability for law abiding citizens to sell their own private property to one another also called a private transfer. Some states have laws requiring background checks on private transfers, but it is impossible to enforce. You could find a marijuana dealer on the streets and buy some from him without a medical card. If the police don't actually making the deal there's not a whole lot they can do to stop it. All requiring a background check for gun shows is make sure that criminals get their guns in private.
@stantheman19767 жыл бұрын
That is absolutely, 100% false. You quite literally made that up. Firearms capable of automatic fire are highly regulated in the US and there is no such thing as a "gun show loophole." That is a made up term coined by politicians and picked up by the media and people who believe everything they hear on TV. If you buy a firearm from a dealer at a gun show you must fill out paperwork and pass a background check. This is the same system the police use. You don't pass the check, you don't get a gun. Plain and simple. Fully automatic firearms are highly regulated. They are all registered and tracked by the ATF. That is federal law. Same with suppressors. Any fully automatic firearm made after 1986 cannot be legally owned by a civilian without the proper permits and licenses granted by the ATF. If you lose those permits you lose the guns too. Automatic firearms made before 1987 are all registered and to own one you have to pay the ATF for the paperwork and can't just sell it to anyone. Automatic firearms are transferred like a car title. You are legally required to go through a federally licensed dealer. The potential buyer has to be checked before they can take possession of the firearm. That process takes months to complete. If you want to make claims you should first make sure they are based in some truth.
@stantheman19767 жыл бұрын
There is no loophole though. The term is made up. If you live in a state that doesn't require checks for personal sales you can meet another person at a gun show and make a transfer. IF we're being realistic here though how many gang bangers and thugs are going to gun shows where there are likely surveillance cameras, law enforcement, and hundreds if not thousands of potential witnesses. Answer? None.

@@lolzy684 Dude, I bought a reising machine gun a few years back, It took a year and a half for me to get "Permission" to own a piece of steel and wood. Machine Guns themselves are extremely regulated, and I feel that things like the hughes amendment and 922r are just the rich holding down the poor. I purchased a 100 year old rifle(Springfield krag) that took a background check(No wait because I live in Tennessee). So While i disagree with all of the red tape, and think certain laws should be repealed and money refunded, The laws we currently have in the states DO work, they just need to be enforced. Just don't get me started on suppressors and all the ridiculous stuff I have to go through to own them, even though other countries with FAR stricter laws have no regulations on them(If you buy a rifle in Europe some of them COME with suppressors and are required to be on them when shooting outdoors). As an aside, the gunshow loophole Doesn't really exist, What they are referring to is private sales, which happen, but not quite so often as people buying guns from vendors. I bought a russian makarov at a gunshow years ago and had to fill out the same paperwork(ATF form 4473), and pay the same fees to do so. My check cleared and I left with it. That metaphorical "Loophole" could easily be remedied if the ATF would make a website where that 4473 could be filled out by non vendors....and be made free. But the ATF is only there to collect money, and confiscate property. The FBI and Customs could easily handle everything they do, and save taxpayers billions. Though I will say my views are not the same as others, I have no issues with either of their stances, as they have every right to their opinions, my only issue is most folks tend to want to allow drastic overreach and even MORE control by a government No one really trusts anyways... and rightfully so. I've been listening to KMFDM since I was 11, first song I ever heard was Juke Joint Jezebel,So I bought NIHIL at a record shop. I still have that album, and It was signed 8 years later when I went to a show in st louis...I Have it in my Vault, along with some other band merch...and my Firearms. I'll continue to listen to them, as they are a helluva good band, and their attitudes, and respect and love for their fans just speaks volumes about them :)

I wonder if they're going to campaign for sensible gun laws in Rio with about 1/5th the population of America and where 40,000 people were murdered in one year, many with guns that were illegal? Also her story about the gun shop is absolutely misleading. If she went there and provided her driver's license and waited 24 hours that meant that she had to fill out federal paperwork and have a background check which checks criminal history and outstanding warrants. It's the same check police use when you are detained during a traffic stop. No one is screaming for police to do stricter checks for speeding tickets though. That's the whole problems here, people arguing for or against things they have no part in and don't understand. It's spreading ignorance. Do some research before you open your mouth. America has some serious issues. We need a lot of things fixed but I'm still proud to be American and live in one of the safest places.

Check those numbers again because that's well over double what the ACTUAL number is. The total number in 2015 was half of what you're claiming. That also includes police shootings, self defense, suicide, adn criminal shootings. Of course in 2015 more people died from heroin overdoses than gun deaths, despite the fact that heroin is illegal. Crazy, huh?
