[KMS] MAPLESTORY: Cube & Meso Changes + Suggestions

i'm full copium for GMS to not get this update, GMS player culture is different than KMS and if this update hits most reboot players will just flat out quit except for the established players. Especially since the introduction of hyperion, it would take years for real progression.

The whole point of this is so they arnt obligated to release rates. Now they can continue doing dynamic rate changes. The law in Korea only pertains to items that required actual money to get not items from ingame money.

This benefits no one… Whales now squeeze the meso market which will shoots up the price since a daily cap of meso cant compete with an infinite resource of cs cubes. Now everyone will have to pay more for cubes and get less

Well, if they are gonna make reboot same as regular server, what possible reason would anyone have to play on it? Aside from some cs items being free of course(free as in, you don't have to spend nx, thus real cash to buy them).

I completely expect the changes to come to GMS; the system change looks like it'll be a large part of their focus for balancing progression going forward, so I don't think it's reasonable to expect the changes to not make it over to foreign markets. The real question comes in the form of, is there any way that it may be different when it arrives in GMS? Even a change as simple as not touching the Reboot meso rates would be a large enough difference to make it notable, although black cubes being twice the price would still be felt. That's what I'm personally expecting, at least. The changes coming over without being altered would make absolutely no sense, given that over 60% of the GMS player base is on the Reboot servers (the ones hit hardest for seemingly no reason).

Agreed. I just hope GMS doesn't copy n' paste this update and instead make players happy by finding a happy medium. This update essentially makes reboot and reg server the same server with no big feature to attract players to switch from reg to reboot. Just a few different points here and there, but in the grand scheme of things, they're the same server.

@@samejorjo6216 majority of the player base of kms is in reg servers. It becomes a problem when real money is used to buy cubes. Reboot shouldn't be too heavily affected by this tbh.

​@@SojinieeYeah since nexon makes money off regular due to cubes then obviously they are more incentive to listen to regulars. Regulars hate reboot and these nerfs makes them satisfied. So obviously reboot servers will be heavily affected. I mean we lost our main source of potential badges, easy progression and exp rates

@@samejorjo6216 Even if Reboot wasn't nerfed at all, regular servers wouldn't be at risk of dying out in Korea because of them. Most people who make up Nexon's income are players who have invested thousands of hours and upwards of tens of thousands of dollars into their preferred server, so very few people are likely to swap to reboot on a whim; they're much more likely to either wait to see what future patches do, or quit the game entirely for a while until they see patch notes that bring them back.

Imagine being told nexon is a terrible company and maplestory will be ruined 20 years ago and some players saying we stupid for saying that...... O WAIT there called the nexon hard core players of today.... LOL This had to be one of the biggest ," I TOLD YOU!!" moments in history. Everyone that said nexon is ruining the game and the people that said maplestory is ruined and messed up, nexon is a terrible company, etc.... were bashed on by the player base for saying those things. And BOOOOOOOOM , for all the maplestory players that were surprised that nexon is a scamming terrible run gaming company, we warned you, we told you, yall were just in denial for 20 long years LOL. To be honest the reason nexon is such a bad company is kind of the hard core player base's fault. The fact nexon could do this for 20 years just shows how delusional the payer base was. You players that let nexon survive for this long deserve to get screwed honestly. Sadly I loved this mushroom game for a long time, kept coming back to it over the years even though i knew this game is screwed. I couldn't let it go, but now I really do wish nexon goes underground and a good honest content oriented company picks up maplestory and starts to rebuild it for the good of the mushroom player base. Maplestory didint deserve this fate, it was one of the first and most honest, pure fun, and social games that was a true mmorpg and because nexon was greedy since the second they took over development, maplestory went to the gutter, and now its 10 feet below the gutter. Anyone that defends maplestory, yall need your brain checked, because yall more delusional than a blind person saying they see pictures.

You stating "reboot whole point was cubes for mesos". However, that is totally not true. Main idea of reboot is to remove the pay to win option from the game. After this patch it is still the non pay to win server. Making everything untradable doesn't let you pay to win and that's the whole reboot purpose. We are unsure about this update coming to GMS. I know the issue is having a daily meso cap, but the thing about cubes for mesos doesn't change anything. Regular still pay to win since you can buy mesos to buy unlimited cubes and you can also buy mesos to buy finished gear. Reboot will remain the same non pay to win server. Yeah we can cry about reboot not having a point if you can buy cubes with mesos in regular servers but we know that it is a lie since the whole point of reboot is not being pay to win and it'll remain that way forever.

While yes, the main point of reboot is that it's the "free to play" server, but you could also be "free to play" in reg server. A big reason why players switched to reboot was because mesos could buy everything. Now those mesos are capped and for a lack of better term, "time gated" players progression.

@@SojinieeIs not about "free to play". MapleStory game is free to play since you don't need to pay to play it. Also you can farm Mesos in regular server to buy maple points and buy everything from cash shop. Difference in reboot is that it is not possible to "pay to win" like regular servers. In regular you can be 50k in a day, in reboot you need to actually play the game. That is the whole point of reboot.

I get what your saying but the truth is, a ton of people absolutely mained reboot because you could buy cubes with mesos. Regardless of what the purpose of the server was, thats why the vast majority of GMS players are on reboot. Outside of the "reboot experience" aka the inability to trade making progresssing feel meaninful, there isn't a single reason I can personally find to stay on reboot if this change comes. Reg server will be the new "easy mode"

If you’re account is established late-end game, I doubt you will quit. If your account is early-mid game ya for sure you quit, you dont lose anything.
