There’s not really a set AU for it buuuuut I was thinking that maybe after Kagami left for America, Kuroko couldn’t find a new light in his team. This led him to be mentally exhausted as he couldn’t participate fully in the basketball games of his team. He felt as if his purpose disappeared which caused him to quit basketball.
