I was an English teacher in Thailand before too and I have had such a passion to teach my kids to be able to communicate English effectively. Decided to come over to the UK for my master’s degree just because I wanted to know how a language is actually taught/ learned! I enjoyed the course and I eventually got the answer of ‘ how to teach a language’ . I would say that I have a huge BUT + unfortunately, I couldn’t carry on because of the system! I feel so so bad for those kids, that they really gain nothing from the time at school! In the UK, teaching approach is so much different ( I am not meaning to compare the two countries but I think ‘ life-long learning’ is so meaningful for kids. I am a heart-broken English teacher! I am so glad to watch this video. I got so emotional. Thank you for such a contribution xx
I teared up when P’Ae talked about her reasons to keep teaching. I think a lot of highly skilled teachers feel the same way. Even though they want to quit the system so bad, they are still here because of the students 🥺💕

Believe me it is not a system of education to be sacrificed for this story and we cannot accuse one thing of causing this. The only thing people always overlook and never even analyse is that being bilingual country. Hope this help you guys to explore more the reason why. Wasalam ❤
It's amazing to hear you all talking about this. I was one of them in Thai system. Talking was our weakness. I am now living overseas and understand and speak English better and wish that Thai kids will be more confident to talk in English without being judged.

We should teach our students to embrace the diversity of languages and cultures, not only English. They should be free to learn what they really want to know. But Thai students are forced to learn what they don't see the need to know.

So many great points in this discussion. Thank you for this video. At the nineteenth minutes, the point about normalisation is the one point I really believe in. Thai people have to stop making such a big deal about hearing other people speaking in English, as if it is something strange. It should become just another part of normal daily living , just like in Singapore. I have been there and found Singaporeans actually use English with each other without any qualm. To them, it is not an issue. Thai people have to stop making an issue out of it. When Thai people can stop this attitude and mindset of กระแดะ - that's when Thailand's English competency, as a whole, will improve, because everyone will be helping everyone else use English and help each other improve English together. My two cents worth. Cheers.
I like her… the way she speaks English ..her accent s cool..she doesn’t talk too much ..short and precise..my compliments from me to her…never gotten bored watching her …

ขออังกฤษแบบงูๆปลาๆนะครับ Yeah. ! I prefered this VDO because they made me alive again in English. I never study aboard but coming of VDO or other materials from online platforms made me practice in English and some French. Finally I would like to say “ Thanks “ for all about English online medias.

I totally agree you guys discussed , I am mommy of 2 bilingual kid . You know i think our country need to support in each family to also speak english as their another own languege .
More than the good content, the word "เสรีภาพ" at the background reflex all the thing that should be improved.

Interesting vlog The Thais who are in the tourism industry really can speak English albeit not the perfect ones. I am really impressed with those who sells T shirts and stuff and they really speak good enough to bargain , yes bargain with tourists.

I love P'Ae I was her student long time ago. I love her attitude. I really love to learn from her.
It's the same thing that English teachers always talk about "education" all the time, i've been listening this problem but I never see how they change. We have to change the way we do to be another way so our students can be better than they are right now.
🙏💖 luv this channel it make me realize everytime when I'm free I luv to listen this is make me feel so powerful you guys give me the best way to learn and try to improve all the time ❤💖🙏
