I don't care if people wanna call me a knick homer or whatever. Do not be surprised if kolek takes payne spot in the rotation. People forget this dude is a 23 year old rookie who played 3 years of high level college ball. Yes we are a team contending for a championship, but remember this is not a 19 or 20 year old rookie that has to be developed at a snails pace, nor is he a young rookie on a bum ass team that has the green light to take over 20 shots a game because that team sucks so bad. Seems to be a high IQ player who understands he has to be a quick learner. Plus it's not unheard of for a rookie to have a impact on a championship team, the example that comes to mind is Sam Cassel with the 94 rockets.

I’ve never seen a Knick so hyped since Patrick. Is Kolek a good player yes but eventually superstar? Come on now, he hasn’t played one actual NBA game yet. The term “superstar” is so bastardize nowadays it’s ridiculous. There are generally 7-8 superstar in the league at at any given time. Can the kid make an all rookie team at least? An all star team maybe? Not to mention he was a 2nd round pick! Yes you can become a great player being a 2nd round pick but that’s an exception to the rule. Jalen Brunson is an anomaly. Did Deuce get kinda this hype? Obi? RJ? IQ? All those guys had just as good college careers if not better than Kolek yet we’re treating him like he’s the next John Stockton. “Superstar” potential is usually seen in a player way before the age of 23. 🤷🏽♂️
@chrisconnors94496 күн бұрын
Clearly Guys like you would never consider an nba player as a potential superstar until he becomes a superstar. No matter how much potential he shows along the way.
@chrisconnors94496 күн бұрын
if he is a rookie dropping 15-17 points in less than 10 mins worth of overall playing time. Then yyyyyeeeeh.. clearly he isn’t the average rookie. He hasn’t played bad yet in any summer league or preseason game.

Development doesn't exist? I'm not making the claim he's going to be it year 1 or even year 5. Development continues throughout your career. But saying he has flashes and explaining why? I think there's room for that. I've been high on Kolek since after the draft. Called him the steal that day. My mindset hasn't shifted. It's an either you do or don't thing. You don't and that's cool. I do. There's room for both to exist lol.

Bro, calling him a potential superstar is a major stretch. What you’re seeing in Kolek is a traditional PG. He’s a pass first PG with good vision and court awareness. He makes good decisions and has shown he can hit the open shot. He still needs to work on his defense. But if he develops we’re going to have the same situation we have with Quickley. As a basketball fan as well as a Knick fan Kolek I hope he does well but not being redundant he is far from a superstar. So let’s just watch him develop while he’s here.
@TheKnicksRecap6 күн бұрын
