I just love it as a 90s kid listening to the players talk. LJ is a great example of a Knick...he gave everything he had left in his body to the NY Knicks and was a big game player and we love him for that. These guys really are the lunchpale blue collar superstars we thought they were.

Thanks LJ for mentioning Derrick " DC" Coleman. Just like LJ said you had to guard him the full length of the court because dude did EVERYTHING on the court at 6'10". Handles, shoot, pass, rebound, block shots. A complete player.

When LJ came to the Knicks, i expected the second star next to Ewing, the LJ from the Charlotte Hornets. Early that first season, when i saw physically he was not the same player, i grew a littlle disappointed, even as i appreciated his presence, because by then i could already see the intangibles: the leadership, the respect for the game, the love of the game, and the camaraderie with his teamates. By the end of that first season, he'd already become one of my favorite Knicks of all time. The man had amazing basketball IQ. He had the strength of a strong PF but the court vision and unselfishness of a PG. I learned so much about how to appreciate the intricacies of the game watching him. Great interview!! And Thank You, LJ!!

38:04 - looking at the game logs, I think Larry is confusing the 1999 season with the 2000 season. In the 2000 playoffs when we lost to the Pacers LJ had 3 pts in game one and dropped 25 in game two. In 1999 LJ was balling from game one against the Pacers until he hurt his knee in game six.
