The shape he’s in when he returns and IF he can stay healthy has huge implications on how far this team goes this season. There’s a reason Warren has been out of the league. He can help - he’s a scoring forward with decent size - but this ain’t pre-injuries bubble TJ, even if he is lighting up the G. I still don’t think it’s the year though. I never really thought it was going to be. And they’re struggling to find their defensive identity even more than I thought.

Jonas Valanciunas and Saddiq Bey for Mitch and Sims plus seconds is the trade I like the best. Bey is still recovering from the ACL, but should be back healthy soon. This would give us talented, cheap and controllable role players that also solves our wing and big man depth problems this year and future year. Get it done!

I think we need to keep Payne for the lock room and to have a vet that's good in the locker room. Sims and Mitch are the only assets we should be looking to offload at what ever cost we can get. Another wing would be nice but we just can’t afford to make that move without losing someone who’s already contributing…so let’s just stay put, and lock in

Our wings OG and Bridges play the most minutes on the team and in the league. we have 3 back up guards and Center by committee. A vet wing that Thibs trusts might be it for this year's run. if not, stay pat

Mitch's value is at an all-time low. There is no need to chase a trade. Let him come back and see what we have. If Mitch is healthy enough to be a rotation player, then our team is set. Having Mitch play 12-15 minutes per game at the backup center spot pushes OG to the SF position a lot more often. At that point, we have Hart, OG, and Bridges to share time at the Wing positions. There is no need to give up assets to bring in a fourth Wing. The Knicks will be one of the most attractive places for the buyout market. There's always going to be someone available in February that could be had for cheap if we have the patience.

@andresarias3178 Gobert just stays in the paint. Mitch is more mobile. He knows how to get out the way. When you go up against the Greek Freak or Embiid, you are going to need big bodies, you're going to rebounding other than Kat and Hart. Mitch provides that. Besides, they don't have to play together. You can stagger the rotation. Mitch, Kat, OG, Precious, and Hart, rebounding, is a lot to deal with for anybody. Mitch also solves your rim protection problem.

If they can't trade for a quality big man, better to work Hukporti into the rotation and develop him into a backup 5 until Mitch comes back and as insurance in case Mitch doesn't come back 100% healthy. Sims is too limited. Hukporti is no Mitch, but he can become a poor man's I-Hart if he gets minutes. Otherwise, we risk ruining the playoff run with injuries again, running the starters into the ground.
