Knife and Scissor Tools (Affinity Designer)

Quickly slice through vector layers using the Knife Tool to enhance your designs, and use the Scissor Mode to quickly break curves.

I'm having a lot of trouble with this tool; for some reason it's only slicing some of my letters and not all of them. Doesn't change when I convert to curves first or have the letters as separate or added together onto one layer. Has anyone figured out a way around this? Appreciate the help

Very interesting tutorial, thank you. Anyway, am I completly stupid ? I don't succeed to get oblique cutting (with the ctrl command). I loose the cutting tool for the node tool with the Ctrl command. What am I doing wrong please?

@@andreassobel9638 Hello. I asked for this problem on the Affinity forum, and here is the answer: the problem is that this tutorial is on a Mac. "It's a bit more complicated in Windows: Press [Shift]+[Alt] and draw a line at any angle" :-)

Indeed, strange that they did not bother to tell this in the comments. You can also press left+right mouse button simultaneously to achieve the same effect.

I've figured it all out now. however, there are still other problems with this tool. some letters are not split when cut. do you know this problem too?

@@andreassobel9638 Yes, I had this problem too, as the results were a bit random. The starting point must be outside the first letter (and not on the first letter). I think it's ok then

The pacing of these videos is far too fast and you leave out some crucial information. I wish you'd take more time to explain these features and be a bit more thorough.

I play these videos back at 0.75x speed and do a lot of pausing and switching back and forth between AD2. That's the only way I can keep up with these!
