Knife making - FALLKNIVEN S1 MODIFICATION / restoration - stabilized wood handle

This time we had an unusual order, so we decided to record it ;)
We were asked to modify a fallkniven S1 knife. We had to get rid of the coating, make a satin finish on the blade and make a whole new hidden tang handle.

Very nice handle work. Blade work less so. You need to maintain sharp grind lines. You softened the angles of the blade when they should remain sharp. Still a worthy effort.

Beautiful job...Just a question though...Is it me or does it look like the wood has some Nick's in it and was it used before as scales? The butt looked like it was drilled out for 2 screws...Other than that, nice! What kind of steel btw??

Thank you ;) No, it wasn't used before, it was a brand new freshly stabilized piece. Wooden burls tend to have natural nicks in them, that's just how they are. ;)

Só achei exagerado a quantidade de material perdido na fabricação do cabo. Eu faria no mínimo 2 cabos com aquela quantidade de madeira. Isso faz eu duvidar da inteligência do fabricante.

Ничего так получился. Пойдет. Но и косяки присутствуют... При такой толщине клинка можно было и аккуратнее примыкание больстер - клин. Про отверстия сзади я молчу... А для себя или на подарок другу - отличный вариант...

Personally, I would have made a lot of changes lol but this is probably just me: Make the brass bolster into a guard Make the lanyard tube closer to the end of the handle, either by shortening said handle or pushing the lanyard tube back Making the handle from scales, meaning I would cut out a recess for the tang to sit in That's about it lol Edit: oh! And added jimping lol
