ofc a murican burger would never swing the hammer and heat up the steel, giving the structure a proper shape on the inside, on the molecular level. just buy a plate of 0815 chinese wallmart steel (or carbon...!) and make it look like a knife. ...guess _why_ "made in america" ain't a better branding then "made in taiwan"...

Man, I gotta say. At this point in my life I've seen, probably, thousands of knives, swords, axes, spears, maces, daggers, polearms, and even guns made by various mediums of manufacture. But this is certainly one of the best I've seen yet. Personally, I would've added a guard but that's only because of a previous bad experience with a double edged tool. Bottom line. This is a work of art, and I hope that you are immensely proud of yourself sir.

thausands of bladed weapons? and this is the "best" you've seen? i guess if you don't care about the base steel... or the techniques i guess? i mean the end product looked nice don't get me wrong. but it was poorly sharpened and it was just.... a cut out piece of steel..

Interesting question. I wonder about that too now that you bring it up, but it seemed like the heat was around 820 degrees, which seems lower than usual so maybe tempering it at lower heat wont make it as brittle? I honestly know nothing about it except what ive seen in these knife videos so im probably wrong

My only question is the about the 90° angles where the tang transitions to the blade. Didn't man at arms say it was bad to do that due to force distribution when you strike something with a blade?
@S8tan74 жыл бұрын
The intentional primitive look to this resonates with me, it just reminds me of what humans would have used 10s of thousands of years ago, but made of flint or copper rather than steel
@So_Iace5 жыл бұрын
Really nice and simple I love it only critique is the transition between the bolster and tang, round off those shoulders. Square shoulders create a high stress point and can break your tang.
