The Olight Otacle A1 Hatchet is a gem of a camp tool. I can't recommend it highly enough. It's comfortable in hand, constructed well, and they really got the heat treat right on the steel. It is my go-to camping hatchet. I have seen nothing but good reviews on it from other users.

Super pumped for the rat 1.5 i have the 2, but it always gets rusty around the pivot. This should be a great knife

I was down a Ontario Rat rabbit hole today, I've never owned one but got interested in having one as a camping knife. Learning the dimensions I really thought man there should really be a size in between the two and bam they did it! haha. I'm looking forward to future budget steel options.

Same here. I picked up a Buck 112 slim 2 months ago and have been happy so far with it. Easy to sharpen and had me looking at the RAT again for a glove box blade, the D2 version.

The rat 1 is prefect especially for outdoor use. The longer blade makes batoning wood a lot easier and the full size grip is great if you’re wearing gloves. I’ve owned and given away countless rat’s, I even bought the s35vn rat 1, can’t wait for my micarta scales to get here to put on that one.

Hey DCA, Seth, & Thomas - 🦃🍂🍁HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!🍁🍂🦃 Wow - Rat 1.5 in Magnacut! Good for them! That's a good size for EDC and it's good to see them making an update on materials and a meaningful change in size! Very cool. From what I can tell online, it looks like the Rat 1.5 is made in Taiwan, which is much preferred to me personally (instead of made in China). That Microtech Ultratech ZBT is also SWEET! One of the many benefits of CAPITALISM - continuous innovation with improvements in technology and quality at a price people are willing to pay. WIN-WIN!

I have a old blur that's in cpm 440v aka s60v. I'm really glad to have that knife as today they are very hard to get because no one that has one will sell one. I have 6 or 7 blurs and love them all, the normal 14c blur is a heck of a good deal. It's a heck of a good work knife and you can get them for under 70 bucks at normal street price or around 60 on sale. The blur really is a classic and totally deserving of being called a classic. Btw I called it on the magnacut rat, when they started dropping the s35vn rats I said 100% we will be selling a magnacut version before long.

I got so excited about that new microtech but to much disappointment they only have the DE version, I need the drop point. Microtech makes one of the best drop point blades on the Ultratech series. It has the same thick tip as the Tanto but with the best blade style.

Any chance Ontario released specs of the target hardness of the magnacut on the new RAT? I really want one but not if they are 60-61 HRC? If they are targeting 63 I will buy one right now but if they are targeting something like 61 that's just sad.

Hey DCA. I've got a bit of an odd search request for you. I'm a farmer, and I use a lot of different knives in the field, but I'm really struggling to find the ideal pruning and harvesting knife. I need a 3"- 4" blade, in a hawkbill shape, with a high edge retention and high corrosion resistant steel, like Vanax, Magnacut, 20cv. And preferably one hand opening and closing. And not a karambit style like the Lionsteel one. This is a working knife for long days in the fields, so a reasonably ergonomic handle is important, which is what rules out ring karambits as they are more cumbersome in the type of precision work I'm doing. Thanks.

I own and enjoy the livewire, but is there an after market pocket clip for it yet? I can't possibly be the only one who hates it, right? It's not the weird angle of it, but the fact that it's so small and tight to the handle. It's a chore trying to slide it into a pocket no matter what kind of pants I'm wearing.
@ANukeWithLegs16 сағат бұрын
so what is Ontario back in business ? Last time I heard they closed down and some other company bought them out. I wanted to get some fixed blades from them when I heard the news. On EU sites it says that some OKC knives will be in stock in a month meaning they are getting shipped.

33:01 I don't quite understand how's that a scandi grind if it's so tall and still has a micro bevel, I always thought scandi grind starts at half of the blade or shorter. Why not just call it a sabre grind at that point lol, what's the difference?

My guess is it sits deeper in the pocket in that position. The lanyard hole is in the way of the tip up position causing the knife not to sit as deep in the pocket. I prefer tip up too.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Give your life to Jesus before it’s Too late. If you die in your sins without being saved you will go to Hell forever separated from God in outer darkness. This life is extremely SHORT compared to Eternity, and you’ll either spend it with God in Heaven or in Hell with the devil. No matter what you’re going through Jesus is right there with you and He always has and always will be, He LOVES YOU and is waiting to hear from You with open arms. Romans 10:9 “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Jesus is coming back SOONER than any of us Think!!!!!. Jesus is LORD of lords, KING 👑 of kings, and GOD of gods.
