Dear Mr. Andersen and the rest of you at the knife center I really appreciate you getting back to me with a suggestion for my carving knife. And it’s funny I just ordered a Victoria Knox knife with a nail clipper. Also I went to Walmart and got a Kershaw hot fire it’s a nightmare especially for them. But I’m definitely gonna look into your suggestions once again thank you for responding back to me.

I totally get the conundrum of which modern classic with a pocket clip could replace the magic of my late 80's Buck 110 and 112. After being ticked that Buck hadn't figured that path out.. Ended up Brass Flytanium scaling an M4 Custom blackout - Mini Crooked River. Mission accomplished. Wish it could have been a buck though. Thanks for another great episode DCA! Now I get why those old slip joints had so many blade shapes in one. Meanwhile I'm packing different knives with different profiles for tasks. =)

My Dude, perhaps direct them towards WE Knife for modern slip joints as well. There are also a lot of smaller french makers who make some sinfully beautiful slip joint knives. Stefan Schmalhaus does review a ton of knives that might appeal to that aesthetic.

It’s a great steel. I’ve had an Urban in K390 for a few years. Feels more like Cruwear than a 10V class steel; easy to strop back and not too hard to sharpen. Good to see it rolled out to more models (finally!).

Thank you for you answer on the best whittling knives. My girlfriend is totally blind, and I decided to start whittling things for her as gifts. I love the Boker, but it is no longer available. What’s up David? My only question maybe you could review for next time would be, what’s the fastest way to sharpen a harder steel like s30v (in a hurry, i.e. a work environment) but without damaging the blade or getting the angle wrong? Are field sharpeners the way to go? I’m always afraid I’ll do more harm than good to the original edge grind.

What are some versatile multi tool options for working on a motorcycle and/or leather working? I’ve got a Leatherman Crunch, which is awesome for locking onto bolts, but doesn’t have much versatility otherwise. The serrated blade isn’t super useful, and my other bulkier wrenches/screwdrivers are inevitably way better to carry around. It’s also bad for one-handed operation. I’ve also noticed some multi tools come with awls, which would be cool for my leatherworking. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Great pick with the leak. Love that knife. Funny enough, the delica would have been a great pick too. Question: I’ve seen fellow knifeheads use a strip in very different ways. Some slide it slowly and meticulously, as if it is a sharpening stone. Others strop at 90 mph and are less concerned with the exact angle. With all things equal (strop and compound) what method do you recommend?

Mr. Andersen, I confess to being guilty of giving you the Anglicized Swedish version of the name. My apologies. As always, the video was thoroughly enjoyable. I'm not sure how I missed it earlier. In any event, I thought that the question about an unchanged classic 50 years from now was answered by the next question - Which Delica is best?
@knifecenter
@knifecenter 4 жыл бұрын
No way on the Delica. The 4th Gen current knife looks very different from the first gen knife. The name will undoubtedly still be around, but it'll certainly not be "unchanged" (which is a good thing for us customers!) Cheers my friend -DCA

Hey Mr. Andersen, do you think there’d be a way to mod the new benchmade Osborn switchblade to be assisted opening instead? California frowns on the button openers but assisted seems to be ok. Every Case knife I've ever bought had a terrible fit and finish. Turned out to be complete garbage as well. I don't see them being in business long if your going to sell nothing but expensive junk. Come on case get with it. They charge almost as much as GEC does. But GEC is high quality. I would never buy a case knife again. Especially that for 20 - 25 more I can get a GEC.
