They should bring back knight rider with the original Pontiac firebird for a movie or a mini series, everything after the original series was not that good. The mustang version from 2008 kinda missed the vibe, good actors but too futuristic imo

Still think that you could make a new show, set in the 80s with the original car and concept and it would be popular. After 40 years there's still a huge interest in the original show but attempting to reboot it in a different era didn't work. You don't really get weekly action shows now, it would be great to see them brought back. I want an 80s Cinematic Universe where all of these shows like Air Wolf or whatever can exist and they can bring it all back.

I love Mustangs and especially Cobras but even I can admit that it was an abomination to use one for KITT. They should have used a 2002 WS6 and modified it and I think that show would have taken off alot better. Most people couldn't get past the Shelby being KITT

I had an idea myself for a brand new knight rider.. First i want to start by saying there is a fan made knight rider them where someone played the main them using keyboards.. They way they played it was in the original style but a little more deeper and darker.. It set the mode perfectly for my story idea.. I'd want to keep that version of the main theme for the series if i could make it.. My Story would be about a criminal organization had destroyed the foundation and had got a hold of kitt and tore him apart... The foundation manages to reform in a highly classified location and manages to find Michael Knight.. of course played by David Hasselhoff . Michael is put in charge of the foundation and wants to bring to justice the people resposible for destroying the original foundation building and trashing kitt. All that is left of kitt is pieces of his pcu and fragments of his original body.. It gets complicated but Michael knows where the remains of karr is and with a lot of work the new foundation mamages to reassemble kitt using both parts from kitt and karr.. Kitt is resurrected.. The original car design and everything... Butt... He's darker and more robotic in nature.. And wants not just justice brought to the people that tried to kill him... But also.... revenge... Kitt basically goes from superman to batman pretty much... So the basic idea of the series is based around kitt.. Michael has to try and constantly (pun here) steer kitt in the right direction.. Kitt is good... But now has traits of Karr. Making the series more serious and grounded..

Ooo I like that idea and it would follow the original storyline and character developments. KITT was not just advanced, but an actual intelligent being...so to speak. He had personality and feelings despite he was a computer. It can totally work! Since KITT has traits of KARR, still being good essentially, he would be at war with his ideals he had before he was "killed". Know what would be even more interesting? If the traitor was one of the foundation's own people. Makes it deeper as it why the betrayal. :)

They need to do something as the fan base is obviously there, and the whole nostalgia thing is powerful from the 80s at the moment, but they need to do it right. KITT needs to be the black Trans Am, nothing else (although the Mustang was cool) and as many original cast and crew as possible need to be involved. It mustn’t be cheesy though - Knight Rider is about being cool, so the fights should be properly choreographed etc.
