Bloody brilliant clamps! I am in the marine industry and these stainless steel clamp are perfect for use on fuel and water hoses.. The only issue I have is that you need so many sizes because you buy them for the specific outside diameter of the hose which varies a lot. I will be purchasing the Knipex clamp pliers because they look perfect for those hard to get at locations.

So many negative comments. A regular pair of pliers will suffice, true, but this purpose-made tool makes the job a whole lot easier, particularly with larger clamp sizes. Don't underestimate the usefulness of click clamps. A correctly sized click clamp has a tremendous clamping force, with give and take, to accomodate temperature differentials. More importantly, the force is applied around the circumference of the hose, relatively evenly. The same cannot be said about your garden variety Jubilee worm clamp. The better worm clamps that have a sliding sheaf under the screw mechanism, cost many times more than click clamps, and are more obtrusive. I’ve had Norma Cobra Hose Clamps (a kind of click clamp) on my irrigation lines at home for over 15 years. At full mains pressure, none have failed, yet, worm drives on the same line, require continual maintenance to minimize leakages.

So many negative comments. These clamps take very little space, and once installed exert the right force on the connection. Just because you haven't seen them or are too cheap to buy the right pliers and are having a tough time opening and closing them doesn't make them bad. Amazon and Aliexpress sell reasonably priced pliers, although the ones shown are really good and worth it for the professional. Stop crying and criticizing everything just because it's new to you. I bet you guys still cry when you see a Torx or E-torx and wish for the days of carburetors and no computers.

As noted in another comment, another advantage of these clamps compared to worm clamps is that they seal more uniformly around the circumference.

No, not many oetiker clamps are reusable, and the ones that are require a pair of pincers

What a hassle! Why not just use conventional worm clamps. I've used these for replacements and they seem to hold up well over time.

Worm clamps do not clamp evenly which can cause leaks especially with the high pressure fuel injection systems used on modern cars. Other types of clamps such as spring clamps and ear clamps are more reliable.

I hate single-use tools! Why do these claps exist? Why would you make clamps that require special pliers to use? As soon as I get this off I'm putting some proper hose clamps on.

I've never seen these clamps used on anything. Frankly, I wouldn't trust them. They don't seem to clamp very tightly. As far as the tool goes, a pair of pliers would work just as well.

@@lard1892 It's whether or not you can get the pocket screwdriver/chisel/prybar in there. :P Sadly, on the bleed valve pipe, you can't get anything except a set of cut-down side cutters. Managed to get a pair with snapped handles in there, but they're easy-ish when there's access. Getting the proper tool just makes these a breeze to do. The Facom clic-r clip pliers are even better, they close the clip and then push the tab into the little hook. Makes it even easier.

My 1995 peugeot 205's power steering return hose was clamped with one of these click clamps, what a stupid clamp to use seriously, even a spring clamp would of been better as it's a low pressure return line, I secured the hose with a half decent branded jubilee clamp because no way in hell am i spending £50 for a single pair of pliers to remove a type of clamp!
