I had bought some pom-pom yarn a few years ago to crochet something and ended up not doing it because I got mad at it LOL...hey it's the truth...but after seeing your crochet and your knit video, I know I can do it now...although my project will be of a different pattern. I'm thinking of making a baby quilt using different pom-pom color blocks. It's going to be so soft and colorful...i'm so excited.

I'd accidently bought two bags of Pom Pom Yarn and after attempting with chunky needles and not getting anywhere but into a mess I was about to give them away! I use the thumb method to cast on this yarn type because I found using non-pom pom yarn to create my cast-on row, then knitting into it with the pom poms was pulling the first row too tightly. That being said, I only knit one stitch per pom pom. Visually, it looks the same as this method here, but it's very stretchy.

Thank you for showing me this. I bought some pomp-a-doodle yarn at my local Hobby Lobby in Long Beach CA, I was trying to knit the rug pattern on the label -came undone. Now, I know what I did wrong. Will not come undone now. Thanks for showing how to crochet with this (other video)my scarf is coming together nicely.🌟🌟

I used the knit cast on method to cast on and just bind off (8 pom poms left) and tie off the end and cut off any excess.🐾

Could have used this vid two months ago. Have to say casting off is the hard part. Only learned to knit a bit over 2 months ago and looking for how to cast off this yarn is what led me to your youtube page! I invented my own cast on method (at the time), it knits sooo easily for a beginner (no tension issues because of the spacing). But cast off! Ugh! Easy once you know (off course) but at the time, despair!

Would you mind sharing the cast off you figured out? That's what I'm here searching for! I only learned to knit so I could use this type yarn because I like how it turns out knit so much better than when crocheted. I can bind off the pom yarns with less distance between, but these with 2 sts between have got me fuddled. :(

Hi I am new to pom pom yarn. I have two questions and it might sound silly. Ok, I cast in using the second method, my first question is, what am I going to do with the extra 3" yarn at beginning when i cast on. For normal yarn, I can simply weave it and hide it but for pom Pom yarn, I dunno the best way to hide it. Second question, I need to add new ball of pom pom yarn half way thru the knitting, how do you add new pom pom yarn? I know how to to do it with normal yarn, but pom pom yarn I am a beginner. Thanks ^_^

This yarn is actually very easy to cast on using the backwards loop method. I've started quite a few projects with this yarn, but CAN'T FIND BIND OFF INSTRUCTIONS!!!! Please point me in the right direction for binding off! I know a knit bind off does not work, but the same sewn bind off that works for Micheal's Loops and Threads Pom Pom yarn also doesn't work with the 2sts between pom yarns. Why does everyone ignore the bind off with this stuff?

For some reason men seem to explain things simpler than women. However, if the cast on is the hardest part I am not sure why he didn't show the cast on. I think he means cast on only the yarn then incorporate pom poms into the first row with the yarn? Anyhow, being a guy I like to see guys knitting.
